I ordered the stars but got skulls. It's too much of a hassle to send them back, so I just dealt with it. The pads silenced the noise a little, but not the 70% that it claims in my opinion. However, I did not measure it with a meter. It should help protect the drums for a while although, and that is good.

These drum pads had a funny smell at first...I guess it was the paint but after the smell went away (which was quickly)..they work like a charm. When the drum sticks hit the pad it is a softer noise than without them.

I could not find drum silencers any where. I even tired Game Stops website. Not to mention I had been checking at our local store for over 3 months. So I decided to look on Amazon. Found the silencers! The best part was there were different styles to choose from. I finally decided on the Star Imprint. They work great! Got here in 2 days! Applied very easily! Now I am not beating the crap out of my drum pads and rims.

After 3 weeks of use the drum pads are beginning to separate from the drums.

These do seem to quiet the drum sound, but, I wouldn't say its does a 75% reduction as advertised. Maybe 25%, which, honestly, I am not sure its worth buying silencer pads for all of 25% reduction in sound. Ah, well. They look pretty cool, and I got extra sticks, so I will keep them anyway. I have only played on easy, and am not that great yet, so its hard to say how well these perform for accuracy of the hits yet. I'll let a more seasoned drum player try them out and let you know.

The item does what it says but my disappointment lies in that the marketing here does not state that you receive a RANDOM image. So, I ordered this as a gift and I receive the skulls. Well, really buying it for what it does, but... the receiver would much rather have the stars or even the smiley faces.

Am marketing to the gift-receiver as " you play KILLER drums"... and hope they grow on her.

The packaging says for Rock Band 2 but it fits Guitar Hero for Wii as well.

When my husband played Rock Band it sounded like he was TRYING to break the drums he would hit them so loud. Even our teenage children would get annoyed with him. The drum silencers really silenced. I only give it four stars because it was a bit of a pain to get the backs off and place even on the drums. Make sure the drum pad is clean and dry before sticking.

The silencers worked fairly well while they lasted. They started to peel off after a few weeks. My son did complain that he had to hit the pads a little harder to get the same results while they were on. I would not buy them again.

I received this product as a Christmas present from my wife. Thought was it would quiet the beating noise associated with playing the drums by absorbing the impact. It didn't. We basically just added another layer on to the drum pad face. No one in the family noticed any reduction in the sound level.
