Great addition, August 26, 2011

I added this to my kit about 4 months ago to add a kind of timbale'/latin voice to my kit for certain covers we do. I mounted it to a cymbal stand next to my hi-hat stand using a "DWSM-991 clamp". I had doubts about using a uni-ball type clamp but it's working great, no slippage. I wish I had done this a long time ago! This high voice really adds a lot to my kit, after experimenting with it I tuned my 10" tom up a bit higher to balance it and it serves a double purpose now, both as a timbale and to fill out runs and fills. I'm very happy with it, it takes a lot of rim shots and hard playing(I'm not miked so I tend to beat the hell out of it when performing medium-large places)and so far it holds up great. I'm told that because it is a steel shell rather than wood it will warp out of round easily if dropped, so I spent the 14 bucks for the 2 year warranty, and I keep it safe when traveling. This is a very high quality drum and it's worth the money.

A wecome addition to an already large kit, August 25, 2011

I have seen this type of drum used in concert and have wanted to add them to my kit as a compliment to the many pieces that I already have. As soon as I find the correct mounting type and am able to integrate them spacewise, then my enjoyment of this unique instrument shall ensue.
