This book, by the makers of 'Modern Drummer' magazine, has some very cool quotes and pictures (full-color photos throughout.) Even better are the mini articles about the progression of drumming. It starts off with the biggies - Gene Krupa, Billy Cobham, Steve Gadd, Buddy Rich, and others. A recurring theme is that the drummer keeps it all together. See how this is the case, from jazz to grunge to punk rock to '90s Neo-Bop. It's just a fun book to look through - and it'll give you ideas for new bands to listen to - and complex rhythms to watch for.

The Drummer:100 Yeas of Rhythmic Power and Invention This was a gift for a professional "on the road" drummer (grad of Manhattan Schl of Music). He was blown away by the pics and info. He had missed much of this over the years, a must have for the drummer in your life!!!

Bought as a gift for the drummer of our Praise Team. He was excited to receive it and was looking forward to reading it.

The book was good quality and seemed pretty comprehensive. My brother was a drummer, as I thumbed through the book, it brought back memories of my childhood.

I bought this book for my hubby, who is a drummer. It was Christmas present and he loves it so I am very happy with it too! Based on what he has to say about the book, I would think any drummer would love this book too!
