I work for an SEO company in colorado as a php/javascript/drupal developer. I had written the staff training material for drupal, which includes drupal specific training for our optimization department.

What I can say about this book is that it pretty much covers exactly what I have in my material with a more comprehensive section on how to use RDF and Calais' webAPI service, which is something well beyond the scope of most people's understanding in our company. For example, when i say microformats or 'semantic web' to them, i might as well be speaking in tongues. But that's ok, because now they have a copy of the book to learn these things.

There are a lot of books about SEO and a lot of books about Drupal, but this is the first one I've seen specifically on SEO for Drupal sites. As such, it's a tightly focused guide that is packed full of Drupal-specific optimization tips.

I was really impressed with the practical and helpful "how to" approach of this book. A lot of authors (myself included) can't help but get preachy at times. But Ben manages to avoid that trap and stays laser-focused on his topic and providing concrete guidance for exactly how to optimize your site. There are plenty of helpful graphics and screen shots to help keep things interesting, and step-by-step explanations for how to do everything he recommends. This is definitely a reference guide that any Drupal developer or site manager should read and then keep within close reach.

I own an internet company and we are working with Drupal for the last three years.
I'm reading the Volacci Search Marketing blog, and find them real SEO experts. Recently I decided to purchase the Drupal 6 Search Engine Optimization book, that was written by Volacci's founder and CEO Benjamin Finklea.

The book is a perfect guide to optimize your Drupal site for the search engines. It reviews modules, techniques, and suggests lots of tips for the best SEO implementations and configurations.
I'm using the book. And recommend it to our customers - You should try it as well.

There's the rub. If you have a Drupal site and are interested in being found in the search engines, you need this book. Ben walks you step by step though the Drupal SEO process. My site went from invisible to getting rankings in the Google, Yahoo and Bing as soon as it was indexed. Wa-pow! Awesome!

Drupal 6 Search Engine Optimization (SEO) was my first deep dive into the world of SEO and Drupal itself. So naturally there was breath-holding when I opened it up. But what I found was a breath of fresh air. There was tremendous value in every chapter, section, and page of this book. In fact, I don't think there is another Drupal 6 SEO book out there that comes even remotely close to dreaming of the Drupal SEO awesomeness that this book encompasses.

Let's get naked here, the subject, Drupal 6 SEO, doesn't exactly sound like a magical road trip to attention-grabbing, fun town. Not only is Ben's writing style and voice engaging, it left me feeling like he was there, walking me through every key stroke. It's a breeze to read and has plenty of screenshots that show you exactly how to perform every click, query, and configuration. His practical knowledge bombs and witty walk-throughs are clear and concise. You don't have to be a computer whiz to follow along, but you should know some basic information about content management systems and computers in general. By the time I finished going through this book, my Drupal 6 sandbox site I built was optimized and ready to go off Chuck Norris-style on organic search rankings. Is it worth it? Does Google rank?! This was one of the best investments I made for my website.

I went to the DrupalCon in San Francisco back in April and Ben's presentation on "Conversion Rate Optimization" was the most interesting and informative session I went to the whole week. I immediately bought his book and highly recommend for anyone that runs a Drupal site check it out as well.

OMG this has not only the commonsense you expect to find. But what I really love about it is the practical and specific DRUPAL instructions.

This book is very valuable for Drupal developers and Drupal shops ... but maybe even more so for the do-it-yourself / individual Drupal site owner. It takes the basic premise of open source and adds the ability for anyone with a Drupal site to do some very effective search engine optimization. You don't need to be a programmer or SEO specialist to follow the steps outlined in the book and get results. It's very easy to understand and implement.

My advice: set up a Google Analytics account (if you haven't already). Then buy this book and use it, and track the results over the following months. You'll likely be as happy as I am. :)
