This review is from: The Dry Garden: A Practical Guide To Planning & Planting (Hardcover)
Mark Rumary has done a wonderful job with this book. It's practical and packed with information and tips yet he has retained that marvelous English talent for making a garden (any garden) a place of calm and beauty, whatever your local conditions. Say what you like, the British are light-years ahead of us in gardening and always will be, it is one of their special gifts. Yes, he is in England but their climate is changing as well and they don't get as much water as they used to or as much as they need. I don't know how the connection with Wayside Gardens came about but for those of us who have dry conditions and/or who want to conserve water, this is the book you need to get and read. I have ordered two copies from Amazon because I'm making a scrapbook of our garden and will remove the author's pictures from one to compare with our own patch. I especially like the way he recommends specific plants for a border and also plants that are complementary. I'm a fairly new gardener and need all the help I can get! I'm very pleased that I came across this book.
