5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest invention of all time!
Well, maybe not! But it is awesome! I have been on a quest for a 'good' dish drainer for years and had just about given up. I hesitated to spend so much on a dish drainer. I do not regret it at all now. I absolutely love my Dry Gent! It is so roomy, but really does not take up as much room as you would think. 3.0 out of 5 stars Not so crazy about it
I've had this dish rack for about nine months. I just don't get why everyone loves it so much.

First thing was the label that I still can't get off it. I notice that the person who posted photos from her kitchen also couldn't get the label off. That looks just awful. Because the drain tray is on that same side, it doesn't work to turn the rack around...

I do not regret it at all now. I absolutely love my Dry Gent! It is so roomy, but really does not take up as much room as you would think. I like the TWO utensil holders, the drain pan (of course), the towel holder and especially like the 'flat' areas in the drainer. The Dry Gent is just perfect. I love it. I actually smile every time I use it! I would give up my dish washer before I would let my Dry Gent go!

5.0 out of 5 stars No more dish rack drainage nightmare!!!!, November 9, 2010

This review is from: Dry Gent Dish Rack (Kitchen)
I have used regular dish rack with a flat drip recieving tray, however accumulation of drainge on the tray always made it unsanitary, and difficult to clean, not to mention a junkyard look you get when the rack got filled with dishs. Dry Gent Dish Rack has such a presentable look, and a great drainage reciptacle future. The drainge reciptacle can be easily removed to discard a drainage, and for cleaning. The rack has a good room with diffrent compartment easily suited to hold diffrent kinds of kitchen utensils. In short there is no dish rack nightmare with Dry Gent Dish Rack. I give it a great thumbs up! and highly recommned for friends, and relatives, and for anyone who is looking for a good working dish rack.

Big fan, lots of space. Don't have to stop doing dishes because I've run out of drying room. Love that it catches the water for you, so it doesn't have to be over a sink. It is quite large, so if you're going to put it on a counter under cabinets- make sure your cabinets are high enough up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly What I'd Hoped It Would Be, July 11, 2011

When beginning my search for the perfect dish drainer, I was relieved that others shared the same wants and passions for a kitchen item that often is an after thought. Many friends told me they opted for the cheap $12 one and continually replaced it when it became dingy...other friends swore by the look and sleekness of the stainless steel, while admitting that they do rust. When I came upon the Dry Gent Dish Rack, I knew I was going to give it a shot. Before my package arrived, my concern would be that it was too small (it's not) or that the color would annoy me (it doesn't). When it arrived, I immediatly put it to use and found that the size is much larger than it appears in the photo, but luckily, works well at any angle you choose to use it. The dish rack is a workhorse....it gives you options to neatly arrange your items, and I would say that it holds dinner and dessert service for 4 people, plus cooking utensils. I read other reviews complain that it isn't large enough to accomodate pots and pans, along with the dinnerware, which is true, however, I don't think any one of them on the market does, but with that being said, if you are willing to spend this much on a dish rack, I'm guessing that you are a skilled enough cook to know that you should be wiping down your pots and pans after washing anyway to reduce water damage. This dish rack is the only one that I've ever owned and been completely satisfied with, and my suggestion would be to give it a try, I don't think you will be disappointed!

I've had this dish rack for about nine months. I just don't get why everyone loves it so much.

First thing was the label that I still can't get off it. I notice that the person who posted photos from her kitchen also couldn't get the label off. That looks just awful. Because the drain tray is on that same side, it doesn't work to turn the rack around (besides, the back of it is flat, not rounded, and doesn't look right).

I bought this shortly after moving. And I decided to get new dishes. Square plates. Well, this rack can't accommodate square plates! So I returned the dishes.

Those "towel rack" things are ridiculous. They're too close to the counter to work as a towel rack (I don't know what tiny thing is hanging on it in the photo). Anyone who comes over and wants to give me a hand in the kitchen assumes those are the handles to lift the thing with. (I had to contact the manufacturer to find out where the actual "handles" are -- they're the spaces on the bottom on the sides.) If they'd left the towel things off, that would have been a significant improvement.

The counter gets wet because the wet dishes are crossing some countertop when they're moved from the sink to the dish rack. So I need to keep a towel out on the counter to absorb the drips. I do not understand how people are saying their counter stays dry with this! Yes, the little tray captures most of the water. But I have to keep a towel on the counter to catch the drips.

Mainly I thought my kitchen would look better than with a traditional dish rack. The big ugly sticker on the front of the rack and the damp towel on the counter detract big time from the appearance. I do not think this was worth the high price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Holds it all!!, April 15, 2011

I read a review that said this was big and it is BIG. It holds all the dishes, pans, etc from a meal and keeps them contained instead of them spread all over the counter and falling on the floor.
I love the little drain cup which holds the water from the dishes as they drain. It is the neatest dish drainer I have ever seen or used.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's tall. It's weird. It' an interesting design. Will I get used to it?, October 3, 2011

Having spent our entire lives with traditional drainers, seeing this flying saucer next to the sink takes some getting used to. But since I have a raised cast iron sink, conventional drains need to be raised up. The Simple Human option seemed too expensive and of dubious quality. So I considered this a worthy experiment.
The Dry Gent is quite tall - making it stick out at first. I have 18" of space under my cabinets. Anything lower would be a tight squeeze, and unacceptable.
It does hold a lot of stuff. We use the dishwasher for our dishes, but for pots and pans, it also has plenty of room.
I do wish it came in a little more subtle color. The label could have been placed with an adhesive that's easier to remove. But if we can get used to the look, I think it's a keeper.
I'll post a few photos that say it all.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love Dry Gent! Stylish!, February 12, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Dry Gent Dish Rack (Kitchen)
I love the Dry Gent dish rack. It's stylish where others are a bit mundane yet still functions well. Dries my dishes and let's the
water drain pretty efficiently. I guess one of the perks is the drain cubby - lets you dump the water out while masking possible crusty stains, like in the usual dish rack bottom. Not had it long enough to have to clean it yet so can't say how hard that will be. Dish rack is large, larger than I anticipated and taller too. I'm not good with picturing dimensions mentally, I guess. Pretty stable for being plastic. I'm happy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Invention, October 28, 2011

This item is large as noted but is well worth the space it occupies. The counter underneath remains dry and tbere is plenty of room for a meals worth of dishes and pots. It seems well constructed and attractive to look at. Also it is easy to keep clean. It is a little pricey but I feel it was well worth the extra money compared to the usual dish drainer and mat. The drainage cup is easily emptied and the unit is easy to move around and with my small apartment kitchen that is a plus when fixing a large meal. I definitely recommend this item if you are in the mood to treat yourself to something special and spend a little extra.
