More About the Author

I am an over the 65 hill senior who has spent the better part of the last forty years indulging in my favorite hobby of gardening. I prefer vegetable gardening to flowers, trees, and shrubs, because I never was very good at latin.

I am a die-hard organic gardener in the true sense of the word. That is, I learned early on that there is truth in the organic gardener's mantra that says, feed the soil and not the plants, and I am convinced that I can feed my garden soil everything it needs without having to resort to chemically formulated artificial nutrients, and I know what a soil dependent on drugs looks like as opposed to a healthy organically fed soil.

I have been writing about organic gardening for over 20 years, mostly in the form of an award winning newspaper column as well as various magazine articles.

"From the Back Acres: a Humorous Guide to Organic Gardening" is my first book, which I am happy to say has been a wonderful success for me. It is available on as a digital book, readable on Kindles, PCs, or other data file readers. In addition, it is available here on in an 8x10 inch printed softback with over 200 pages of garden wisdon, containing more than 80 full color photographs.

I am currently working on the second edition of the book which, based upon how long it took me to write the first edition, should be available around the year 2050, the Mayan calendar notwithstanding.

Happy Reading and Happy Gardening!

A quick booklet (11 pages) for a novice on how to be a responsible gardener conserving water and still give plants the necessary amount to grow well. The advantages of a timer drip irrigation system make it a very good alternative to standing over a garden with water hose in hand. Living in New Mexico, you learn not to waste water and the ways to effectively use as little as possible. Ed's humor makes the reading enjoyable.

Another little booklet with very little to say, this is more of an ad for buying a drip system, don't waste your money!
