Customer Reviews

This is a very well designed and well constructed product.

I think it was the pressure on the home and power buttons, but swiping stopped working, which makes it impossible to start the phone and use the camera.

I have used this in ocean, worked great, pictures great. sound great on movies I took under water.

The Dry Case works GREAT with both my Blackberry and my Ipod. The kids and I used it all summer long at the pool and the beach. I never would have been able to take my tunes into the water without it! Can't wait to try it skiing. No more worrying about dropping my phone in the snow. I just bought another to give as a gift last week.

I am going to give the DryCase 4 stars, because I believe the 5 is perfection, and this is a great product, but not a perfect product.

Here is what is great about it.

1. It is really, really waterproof. That is my phone in the product packaging. It was underwater for 3 hours as we tried to get the fish to behave.

2. You can use the mic and listen to music with the included cord. Awesome.

3. The price is right. It protects my phone which cost me $300, plus a two year contract. $40 is well worth it.

Here is why it does not get 5 stars.

1. It is a bit bulky for my iphone, but this is because it designed to fit a wide range of phones and devices. I only used it when I am in the water or at the beach. It is not appropriate for everyday use. This does mean that it works with all iphone, ipod or other device. I also keep my Credit Card and Id in there when I am on the boat, so I can leave my wallet at home.

2. If you take all the air out of it, you can not use the track ball on an Android G1 or Blackberry. You can leave a little air in it, without compromising the waterproofness, and still use the trackball. Leaving a little air in there also help sound travel (it does not in a vacuum)

I am partial, since I work for the company, but I think this is still an honest assessment of the product.

I love using the drycase for my electronics. When I go kayaking at my parents house on the lake it keeps my phone dry, that way I have it with me in case of an emergency. It also works great for my ipod to provide background music to keep me energized to go on to explore the next cove. I am buying another for my husband to use on our cruise in January. He's looking forward to using it to take pictures while we snorkel with the sting rays in Grand Cayman.

I can wrap the arm band around my upper arm almost twice. I am not a petite woman, just average sized. I had to use the armband from another case I have. But the product is excellent, so I still giving it 4 stars. I damaged my last iphone when I ran in the pouring rain with it in a different case. I am absolutely confident that no water can enter this case. The price is very cheap for that peace of mind when I run in the rain.

*** UPDATE *** Changed my rating to 5 stars. This company has incredible customer service. They promptly sent me an arm band that fits me perfect. I have been using the product for two months now and I love it. I have run in the rain with my iphone protected in this case, no moisture is able to come inside at all.

I have an HTC Evo 4G cell phone. I need to have it always with me and available to answer, but I run several times each week. I also like using an app to track my workout and listen to music or streaming radio. Living in Seattle, I needed to protect it from the rain and yet still have it accessible.

The Dry Case is a fabulous product. It keeps the phone dry, while I run in the rain (all winter long/9 months out of the year). I especially like the built-in headset jack. I appreciate that it is a 3-way jack for stereo sound plus the microphone to answer calls. I currently use a Bluetooth headset that is weather & sweat resistant (Motorola S9), but I like the option of switching over to a weather & sweat resistant wired headset without compromising the ability to keep the phone dry (probably the Sennheiser 870i if I do it).

Works as advertised. Use it with HTC Evo for kitesurfing and survives multiple full submersion crashes. The vacuum seal is nice and makes the screen usable, although the speaker phone is harder to hear. The armband is too long for me. The cap on the valve comes off way too easily from a crash or nudge, but it's still watertight without the cap. The case material is not compatible with Zagg invisible shield. They will stick together and rip the Zagg right off if you're not careful.

Overall, a great product and very durable. Wish there was a compact version without the headphone jack.

Update: emailed info@drycase.com and responded within 2min. they're sending a smaller armband.

I received this product today and excitedly packed for the gym where I hoped to swim with music through my iphone. I opened it, followed the instructions and slid my phone in. I closed it and slid the locks into place and attached the hand pump to vacuum the air out. I noticed that the seal got tighter and the pump range got smaller as the air left the bag. However, after re-capping the pump valve the air was slowly seeping back in. I opened, resealed and tried several times with the same results but could never achieve a safe seal. My problem with the product isn't only that mine was defective, this can happen with anything ordered online. I feel that Drycase's claim that every case is "Guaranteed Tested Underwater Overnight" is obviously false. I called Dry Case and Spoke to Zack at customer support hoping to just resolve it directly with them but he refused to allow this and didn't even want to know what the problem was, simply instructing me to contact the company, PrimeScuba, that actually sent me the phone. I asked if I could talk to a supervisor, he said he was the supervisor. According to the nice people at Primescuba, this isn't the first return they have had of this product. I don't want to try another one of these over-priced Ziploc bags, I will try another product.
