I would stay away from it.

If there are no stains, and I just want it to freshen up and lightly steam out the wrinkles, it works great.

Great product and refills are sold at local stores like Target if you ever need to buy them quickly.

I was very excited to try this product as I wear a lot of dry-clean only items. I especially wanted this for things such as sweaters and blouses that I tend to just hand wash instead of taking into the dry cleaners.

The package contains a dryel bag, a spot removing pen, and four scented sheets. To use, you put 1-4 items in a bag with the sheet and put it in the dryer for about 30 minutes on medium heat (on my dryer this is the permanent press setting). I was a little concerned since I have an old old old dryer, but since I am one for adventure I went ahead and tried it out on four smaller sweaters.

When the dryer cycled ended I pulled out the bag and hung up my garments. They felt soft to the touch and smelled very nice. I'd go as far to say that they felt clean. However, on closer inspection I saw that one sweater still had a small stain spot. Now, admittedly, I did not use the stain pen on that spot, but if you're expecting for stains to come out just from the sheets and the bag alone then you're in for a disappointment. However, the fabrics were definitely refreshed and, again, smell real nice.

I have not tried to put more than four items in a bag at a time, but I think that at least for smaller items, like sweaters or blouses, it would probably work. I also haven't tried this on an item like a coat, but I imagine that it would be best to only do 1 coat in a bag at a time. Though the box and instruction booklet says you can use this on items such as suits and ties, I'm a little wary of trying it--if only because if something goes wrong I'd be out a lot of dollars. However, I'm definitely going to keep using Dryel for my smaller items!

I'm like some of the other reviewers - I tend to NOT buy clothes (for myself) that are "dry clean only". I have bought silk outfits, knowing full well that Chinese silks have been around for thousands of years before dry cleaning was invented. After discussing with a home extension agent, I learned that silks were hand washable but fragile and so needed tender treatment while wet.

So when the Dryel came out, I used these with my silk blouses and I was careful to pretreat the stains with the enclosed blotting sheet and liquid stain remover. If I found them all before running the clothes in the bag with the dryer sheet, the stains basically all came out.

I've also used these with my husband's suits over the years. Again, pre-treatment of the stains is necessary. If there are no stains, and I just want it to freshen up and lightly steam out the wrinkles, it works great. But I find that when husband's suits get quite rumpled, then not all the wrinkles will fall out during the Dryel cycle even when hung up immediately. Then I will need to iron a bit afterwards or use a garment steamer for those stubborn wrinkles.

I doubt if I would use this with a wedding dress or something that is terribly intricate in beading, workmanship etc, especially if plastic beads were involved. (like plastic mylar type sequins), unless the label indicated that it was machine washable and dryer recommended. But for just ordinary touch-up cleaning, the bag handles two suits (two-piece), or one 3 piece suit, and for smaller lighter silk blouses I have successfully cleaned 5 or 6 garments. If they are heavier then the 2 or 3 is better.

I've always avoided buying clothing tagged "dry clean only", but thought I'd try hand-washing on some irresistable clearance items. No need though, a friend suggested Dryel and it really works! I wouldn't have bought it without the bag, which keeps fancy metallic buttons from getting jambed my ancient dryer. That may not be an issue with more modern appliances.

I don't believe this product was intended to "professionally" clean truely dirty clothes (grime, perspiration, etc...) and I don't wear my clothes until they're filthy. But to renew a cashmere sweater or silk jacket that's been worn once or twice, this product is affordable, effective, and simple to use.

If you put only one sweater in the bag at a time, the cloth comes out damp enough to do a second one and both come out better than if you run them through the cycle together. That doesn't happen with garments that don't tend to cling together.

Absolutely in LOVE! This is my new best friend. A friend suggested this and I bought it right away. Best impulse buy I've ever had! I cheat and put more than 4 garments in the bag it of they are small but don't try cutting the cloths in half as you need every drop of the wet cloths you put in the bag. My clothes did not shrink. I was worried they were wrinkled when I first pulled them out but if you check that they are completely dry and hang them immediately, the wrinkles will go away... Like magic!

While these do freshen up musty garments, they will not remove the stink from the underarm area. I am disappointed in the product.
