5.0 out of 5 stars energy saving balls
I never buy anything that is an As seen on TV piece. While making another purchase, I ran across these dryer balls. I had read an article that said they saved energy by fluffing the clothes and lessening dryer time. On a whim, I decided to give them a try. I am very happy I did. I have a front loading High Efficiency Washer. My older dryer is an extra large regular...

3.0 out of 5 stars Better than I thought
I bought these dryer balls for a Christmas Grab Bag. We had to buy something that was labled "As Seen On TV". I bought them as a joke. I really didn't expect them to work. I bought these dryer balls for a Christmas Grab Bag. We had to buy something that was labled "As Seen On TV". I bought them as a joke. I really didn't expect them to work. I ended up with my own gift. But they work. They are comparable to the generic discount store fabric softner dryer sheets. I also notice that the drying cycle time seems to be shorten. We have an extra compacity front loader dryer. We use 3 to 4 balls per load. While the clothes dry a little more quickly and the clothing is fluffed up and soft; it isn't perfect keeping the static away. It's not lot but there is some. We live in the cold mid-west. It can get very dry in the Winter.

My older dryer is an extra large regular dryer. I hate doing laundry so of course I fill my washer to capacity. The washer load is just a bit too large for my dryer. I do not sort my clothes by fabric type so I will wash heavy sweaters with my permanent press. Before the dryer balls, I would dry my clothes using the automatic setting at Very Dry. At the end of the cycle, several of my clothes were still damp and I had to run them through at least 1 if not 2 more drying cycles. After the dryer balls, I can run the whole load on the Automatic Dry setting and all the clothes are dry! So far this winter, I have not experienced any static cling. I am verry happy with my dryer balls :-D

Yes they actually work! They help separate the clothes as they are drying, thus allowing the heat to more efficiently dry the clothes. When you first turn on the dryer, they rattle around, but soon after they soften and it is a quiet drying cycle.Great price, and recieved free shipping,so I bought a second set for back up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great deal, December 20, 2010

I had never heard of dryer balls unti recently. In an attempt to save money and hassle from having to buy/use fabric softener/dryer sheets I figured I'd give it a try. They work. No static cling. When cool they are hard plastic so when they started in the dryer they were making a little bit of noise. The noise stops in a few minutes once the balls get warmed up and turn soft. I really like them and they seem to be well made and hope to get years of use out of them. The only negative is if you like your clothes to have the softener smell, clothes from the dryer with these balls have no static cling and are fluffy but there is no noticeable scent.
