I'm a beginner helicopter pilot. And for my money this is the only way to balance your blades. I used a see saw balancer at first, but this is the only way to balance the entire rotor head.
I recommend this to any one flying rc aircraft.

Good balancer,

I didn't buy this from Amazon, I wish I had though. I paid another $10 for the same balancer from Xheli.com. I bought this tool to balance Heli rotor blades. This balancer isn't designed for that purpose. I made it useable for rotor blades by spending another $3-$4 (no big deal) at my local hardware. I bought a 3"-3mm piece of allthread, 4-3mm nuts and washers. The cone shaped "spinners" slide right on the allthread so the nuts can be tightened against the "spinners" and hold rotor blades tightly against each other to balance them. I do not own, or have ever used the "see-saw" type balancer, so I cannot compare it to this type of balancer.
This balancer is Top Notch. It's a very accurate, and a very well built tool. It's abit heavy-which is good, thumbscrews are large, and each side can be turned upside down to balance however and whatever you want to balance. The 2 wheels inside each side spin freely and accurately (and on bottom too), and the edges are finely cut to accept the allthread w/o any deviation from accuracy. Bottomline, this is a very accurate and a very well built balancer. If you are shopping for a balancer, this is the ticket, you will not be dissapointed. |
