5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully mastered soothing melodiac music
I just watched these 2 gals on a local access channel and was blown away. I have never seen them before but will make sure to see them, live tomorrow. (they are playing down the street from my house) This music is soothing then vibrant and serene all at once. Their voices blend together so harmoniously that they transform you to another relm. If this isn't what angels...

I very much liked the fresh, clear singing structure an the material they've recorded. In some ways their sound is what one could imagine being what Ann & Nancy Wilson's early work may have sounded like.

Let's give them a boost into the world of music. Enjoy!

As one of the lucky fans to have been hearing A & D play live, I was just mesmerized by their CD, Dua. Songs I have grown to love (and memorize) I get to hear all the time! I have several copies..one in the car, one at work and one at home. Their beautiful voices creating stunning harmonies backed by their wonderful band make for a complete listening pleasure. I would recommend this CD to anyone.

The musical quality of Delilah and Antara are superb! I haven't heard such versatility since the Beatles early stuff. I love these songs. They're going to be classics for sure. It's about time the greatX-generation now has some representation. You go, girls!

This is great original music. My friends kids love it and so do they. Positive themes, wonderful harmonies and what a list of artists in the band! Jeff Peavar of David Crosby's CPR. Randy Cobb formerly with James Taylor and Ellis Hall, Randy Tico and the list goes on. Get this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars DUA is dynamite!, February 16, 2000

It's not just the sophisticated chords. It's not just the impeccable harmonies. It's not even the extraordinary versatility of the band that makes this CD worth hours of listening on the road or at home. The blend of Rumi-esque poetry with thoroughly memorable melodies makes this one of the finest, new groups I've heard in many years.

by the caliber and quality of this cd! The only thing better would be to hear Antara & Delilah live. This is the ultimate road trip cd, as well as one to put you in a groove for just about anything. The melodies are great to sing along to, and the blend of their voices is seamless. Put everything together and it makes for a comprehensive, tight package.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful music, beautiful lyrics, beautiful harmonies..., May 29, 2000
This review is from: Dua (Audio CD)
I bought this album after hearing "Rise and Fall", track #4 on the recording. I found the melody, harmonies and lyrics to be shimmering and stunningly pretty. I believe "Rise and Fall" will touch anyone who hears it. While I admit that I do personally know one of the two singers in this act, this is the most unbiased review that I can give.

Although Pop, R&B and Hip Hop are my favorite genres of music (check out my other reviews), every now and then, great songs rise out of their respective genres and cross over. "Rise and Fall" did that for me - the same way Sarah McLachlan's "I Will Remember You" grabbed me...and this song reminded me of something Sarah McLachlan would do. I really hope Antara & Delilah gain national exposure, because they have a lot to offer the music world.

The other songs that stood out for me were "Keep It Simple", a great opening song about keeping love simple and avoiding games, etc. Then, I found myself really caught off guard with "The Cowboy Way", a powerful song that will have you thinking, and I personally appreciated the courage it took to include it on the album. Then, the "Andes Song" painted pictures of lush greenery and exotic locations in my head with its soothing spanish guitar. I also enjoyed the jazzy "Exposed" with it's bass and saxophone accompianment...but wait, "Hey My Friend" has a great sound too! Alright, you get the picture, this album is consistently great from start to finish with something for everybody.

Particularly with Pop music, lyrical artistry can take a backseat to image and sound, but I feel that on this CD, both the music and the lyrics are amazing. There is a profound love of music behind this album, and you will feel it when you listen. Do yourself a favor and take a chance on this CD - you will not be disappointed. 'Dua' is a relaxing, sonic voyage of moods.
