Not For iPhone,

This review is from: Dual 240-Watt Mechless AM/FM iPod Dock with Bluetooth (Electronics)
I bought this unit alongside the Dual BTM60 Bluetooth module, to replace my existing bluetooth car stereo. I was really looking for a good way to mount and charge my iPhone whenever I was in the car, and do hands-free calling. But this unit was a huge step backward in terms of sound and call quality from my Clarion head unit. I reviewed the BTM60 separately (which has absolutely terrible audio quality), but for this I will focus on just the head unit. The sound quality is decent - not amazing, but better than a stock stereo. But it is definitely not made for an iPhone. When I put my iPhone in, I can hear so much background noise as it charges (it's almost like you can hear the high-pitched trickling of electricity every 2 seconds). Blasting the music hides it a bit, but it's just not acceptable to have that when listening to music - they should have done a better job isolating the charging circuitry so it didn't interfere with the audio signal. Aside from that, because of the way the faceplate folds down, the iPhone is at an upward angle. Since most car dashes are already angled, this makes my iPhone point up at 45 degrees, making it hard to see the screen because it's facing the ceiling. So 2 days later, this car stereo (and bluetooth module) were uninstalled, and my trusty Clarion is back in. It's shocking that nobody has created a decent iPhone-mounted car stereo, but I guess we'll have to just keep waiting.

Tremendous Bang For The Buck, Clean Audio and Compatible with iPhone 2G/3G/3Gs/4,
By
This review is from: Dual 240-Watt Mechless AM/FM iPod Dock with Bluetooth (Electronics)
This radio works just fine with both my iPhone 4 and iPhone 3G, despite the fact DUAL doesn't mention iPhone on their packaging or website. At first plugin to the dock, yes a message comes up that says it's not compatible, yet it plays all my MP3s, videos, and voice recordings as well as Pandora, LastFM, and other streaming radio when I have a data signal on the iPhone.
Overall, a lot of fun and looks so freaking cool in my car. Total strangers will stop you and ask about it. Trust me- they will. Also, the powerful sound when hooked up to a preamp produces incredibly clean audio from the iPhone. I never hear any noise or other problems, but of course I did hook up the chassis ground wire during installation. Hey "Abe Lincoln"...maybe you forgot to do this and that's why you're having noise/static issues? Good ground connections are VERY important to audio systems!

Great radio for the money,
This review is from: Dual 240-Watt Mechless AM/FM iPod Dock with Bluetooth (Electronics)
I got this radio for my son's car and since all he listens to is his iPod, its is perfect. I love it because if I drive his car, it will sync to my phone via Bluetooth and i can listen to Pandora. The sound quality is good and the overall build quality is good. But for the money, it's an incredible value.
