Safe for use both indoors and outdoors, the Dual LU50PW two-way satellite speakers bring high-quality sound to almost every environment and situation. The speakers excel as a straightforward stereo pair, as satellite speakers in a surround sound system, or as remote speakers on the back patio. Their flexible, weather-resistant design makes them particularly valuable for gazebos, porches, atriums, garages, and covered spa areas, where they can withstand both the hot sun and the whipping wind. And should listeners not have a suitable outdoor environment--the speakers aren't waterproof, so uncovered areas aren't ideal--they can move inside and mount them on a wall, on the bookshelf, or atop a desk near a computer for multimedia use. The speakers even with multi-angle mounting brackets for indoor or outdoor installation.

Audio-wise, each speaker includes a 5.25-inch long-throw polypropylene woofer and a 0.5-inch Kapton dome tweeter. Thanks to the high-quality drivers, listeners can enjoy a solid frequency response (55 Hz to 22 kHz) that makes both movies and music sound alive. For a more robust bass performance, listeners, should add a powered subwoofer--a must when creating a surround sound system.

The LU50PWs' technical specifications include 60 watts of RMS power (125 watts peak), a nominal impedance of 8 ohms, and a sensitivity of 89 dB. Each speaker measures 11.81 by 15.63 by 13 inches (W x H x D) and carries a two-year warranty on parts and labor.

Based on the reviews of these speakers on other sites (e.g., Circuitcity), they sounded promising. Unfortunately, when I hooked them up, they sounded hollow and tinny, like cheap boombox speakers. I may end up keeping them anyway because there's such a huge price jump to higher quality outdoor speakers. Sound aside, the mounting brackets are solid and the 5-way binding posts are decent as well. However, I bought them for sound, and have been disappointed.

I purchased these speakers just because i wanted some music outside for cheap money. I am so impressed with the sound. I originally was going to go with the infinity outrigger but didn't want to spend the money. I'm glad I didn't. These speakers perform well over my expectations.

I purchased these speakers a year and a half ago. They were great speakers for the first year. I was very pleased with the sound for the reasonable price. These speakers set 10' back under my back patio, well away from the Texas elements. Other than maybe the heat. I had to purchase new speakers recently due to both speakers had been torn. Before the speakers split they were not that bad. I would just expect more than a year. I am going to try another brand and hope to get some longevity out of them this time. I probably would not buy Dual's again based on quality.
