In my opinion this is a must-have book for those who are planning on having a Dual Immersion program, or another form of bilingual education. The book includes chapters on the following topics: critical features of enrichment bilingual programs, program planning and implementation, oral language development, building biliteracy, teaching language through content and many other topics. The book includes short testimonials and vignettes from those practicing in the field. I can't reiterate enough how essential this book is!!

I've used this book for various forms of research in Master's Ed. and have used it for my own classroom as well. I can say that, in all sincerity, this book has helped me look at the essential components of a Dual Language model and put them into practice. I am hoping my principal will purchase it for us as a campus as I feel all of the Dual Language teachers will find it useful as well. Do yourself a favor and get this book if you are looking at starting a Dual Language program or if you feel you need to know more about it. You won't be disappointed.

Buy it used if you were forced to buy it for classes. Too expensive for what it says. Worth the trading with Amazon for a gift card...
