I'm a product of the 60's, grew up in Detroit listening to the Stooges,
MC5, Ramones, etc, and I love the newer groups with the retro sound,
like the White Stripes, Black Keys and these guys, the Greenhornes.
They are smokin', not sure why they're not bigger than they are.

I don't know what happened to the chubby keyboard player, but I don't miss him. This is the best Greenhornes release yet.
Is there a weak spot on this album? I don't think so.
Along with the Mooney Suzuki these guys rank amoung the best (although not the most hyped and written about) of the current revival of 60's garage rock.
Step aside Hives and White Stripes... let the real garage rockers take over.

The more things change, the more things stay the same. If you're into late 60's garage-rock/psychadelia, 'Dual Mono' captures the defiant spirit and bluesy swagger of another time, eg, The Pretty Things, early Stones, chunky guitar riffs and snarling vocals. Just think the grit and rebellious spirit of The Nuggets 2 compliation.

This band is pretty sweet. Im not sure ,based in this album in particular, if i would consider them all kinds of original and its not one of those albums that i could listen to on repeat until i jizz but i do thoroughly enjoy getting doses of the edgy rolling stones esk vibe. I would recommend everyone tries it at least once.:)
