5.0 out of 5 stars travel coffee maker
Love this coffee maker! I've used it many times so far and have not found fault with it at all. I like the size of the cup - I was used to a smaller sized cup with the coffee maker that this new one replaced. I had to make two cups - twice the trouble. Now I make one cup - and it's easy to do.

3.0 out of 5 stars Wish it were hotter
I really wanted to give this a better review. This is a very convenient coffee maker and fits nicely into a carry on bag or suitcase. It makes one cup of coffee at a time.

My major concern here is that the coffee isn't very hot. It takes a long time to brew and I suspect that is a factor in the final temperature of the coffee. The coffee itself tastes...

I've tried a number of methods to make my own first-rate, early-AM coffee when traveling worldwide. This is the best I've found so far. I use about 3/4 tablespoon of espresso-ground coffee per cup and get a full, rich taste. I was highly surprised and pleased when the maker almost worked right when I inadvertently plugged it into 240-volt European current with the voltage setting still at 120 - there was a lot of spluttering and a bit of a mess, but the machine thankfully did not die on the spot. But I would say that the voltage button should be located just below the on-off button, to remind you visibly about the voltage, not on the opposite hidden side. The only other small downside I found was a quite distinct plastic taste from the supplied cup that didn't go away soon with washing. I use my own ceramic cup now, placing the supplied one under the spout to collect the few lingering drops. Very inventive, attractive and functional design. Excellent device.

5.0 out of 5 stars best coffee idea..., February 11, 2011
This review is from: Dual Voltage Quick Cafe Coffee Maker
This by far is the best little coffee pot ever! Being deployed (yet again),the small amount of space and the duel voltage aspect of it makes it ideal for me. Yes, it only makes 1 8oz cup at a time, but that is all I need...I love this product, and will recommend it for anyone who is looking for a small amendity for your deployed or soon to deploy loved one. I am going to leave it behind for the next Soldier to enjoy, just to make his/her time here somewhat less sucky.

This coffee maker is light, portable, and easy to use. It works very well, and makes a wonderful cup of coffee. However, it is very fragile. The first day I had it, I dropped the drip basket (like 4 feet from the ground) and the lid broke completely off! Besides that issue, it has been a great coffee maker. It takes about 7-10 minutes to make a cup of coffee (depending on voltage), which can be a bit long, but when I'm at work at 10 in the morning and my first cup of coffee has already worn off, its nice to be able to make a hot cup of whatever kind of coffee I'm in the mood for.

The size is perfect. I used espresso coffee and the result was much better than the coffee from any hotel coffee machine with pads.

I bought this travel coffeemaker before our 3-week trip to Europe because I wanted something smaller and lighter weight than the one I had. I used it more than once every day, and I was very happy with it. The coffee was hot and brewed fairly quickly. I brought a ceramic cup rather than the plastic cup it came with, and my cup fit over the top of the machine in the travel bag just fine. I like my coffee more filtered than a mesh basket provides, so I made a simple filter for each cup I brewed by taking a Kleenex tissue, tearing it in half, then wrapping the half around the outside of the mesh basket before placing the mesh basket in the drip basket, so that the tissue/filter was between the mesh basket and the outer basket. It didn't impede the water flow at all and it filtered very nicely. Plus tissue was always available in my hotel room, so I didn't have to worry about packing filters or cutting them down to size. This is a great, compact machine - I'm very glad I bought it.

I love this coffee maker. I have it filled and ready the night before. Just before my morning shower I hit the red button and by the time I'm out I have a great fresh brewed cup of coffee. It seems to be the right amount but sometimes I feel like another cup. It's a great motivator and you never feel as though you have wasted any coffee. With the dual voltage, power is never a problem whether in the States, Europe or Africa/SouthEast Asia. Also it's great with gormet coffee. Tastes great and the coffee bag lasts forever. Buy it!

I have bought travel coffee makers with dual voltage features in the past and I am picky about my coffee. I have tested it out and am happy with the results. It made a quick and decent cup of coffee and was quiet. No leaks or spills. I usually make four cups or so a morning and take it on long trips so it will get a workout.
