It was a little tricky for one non-mechanical person to put together but I'm glad I did. I didn't realize that this dual lamp offered adjustable lighting for both the torchiere and the reading lights. Perfect! With the 2 knobs, you can decide how bright or dark you want the lighting. This lamp was better than expected.

Although I did have a problem with the first lamp that was sent to me, Vision Decor rectified the situation immediately and sent me a new lamp free of charge. The new lamp just arrived and is in perfect condition and working!!

This is a nice looking lamp with two different lights with two knobs controlling each light.
The top light is halogen light with provides excellent bright yet defused light. The torchiere light is on the adjustable neck and its position can be adjusted slightly.

I positioned this lamp behind my bed, with the hope to use top light to light the room and the torchiere to light the book pages while I am reading in bed. However, I have not been able to use torchiere light at all. When I am below it (as I am when laying down in bed to read) it is so bright, that it blinds me in the upper corner if my vision. I have not been able to find a position where it lights the book without the me seeing the light bulb at the corner of my eye. And seeing this incredibly bright light bulb bothers my eyes. I suspect that if I was using the torchiere lamp while sitting down next to it rather than being directly below it, this would work better.

Never the less, I am pleased with the lamp. It is bright enough that I can do all the reading in bed with just the top light.

I like this lamp. Assembly is straight-forward, though not "a snap." It takes three hands, and most of us have only two.

The lamp was well packed. However, even so, it arrived (undamaged externally) with a broken halogen torchier lamp bulb. The manufacturer actually packages a spare lamp bulb, so removing the broken bits and replacing with the spare was the solution. Unfortunatly, the ceramic lamp base also was broken -- presumptively at the same time as the bulb. Fortunately, the broken portion did not cause any significant problem with lamp retention, so I didn't request that the fixture be replaced.
