5.0 out of 5 stars "If you don't mind," McBeth said, "you can do the talking.I'm suddenly very, very weary.", January 14, 2010
This review is from: The Dublin Detective (Gunsmith #329) (Paperback)
This saga finds The Gunslinger in San Francisco's Barbary Coast, watching some strange goings on as passengers disembarke from "The Dublin Queen".The ruthless Jamie Dolan has vamboosed from Ireland, after murdering several women ,including the wife of Detective James McBeth ,who was also on board the same ship, and in pursuit of him.
In this story we soon see that the way manhunts in the old country take place ,are very different than in America's Old West, particularly in the skills of handguns and rifles.
Adams, who never runs from trouble, soon sees the Irish Detective is out of his element in the Old West, particularly with Dolan putting together his gang of gunslingers and a Mexican outlaw. As expected,Adams decides to help McBeth.
The manhunt resumes, with killings, mayham and robberies, in a chase that leads from California,to Texas,to Mexico, back to Texas and eventually to Shreveport,Louiaiana;all on horseback.
You're going to meet up with some real interesting characters, some good and some bad;with lots of action and local flavor thrown in.
Though ,as we've come to expect,The Gunsmith will prevail, and it is only a matter of time before justice is rendered---and in those days, plea bargains weren't the order of the day.
