3.0 out of 5 stars Ducane Affinity 4100 natural gas grill, September 4, 2007

Good value for the cost. There are a few negative items however. I bought this without seeing one in person, so I relied on description. The mfgr. & Amazon say it has 1/4"d. stainless steel wire cooking grates, but they only measure slightly more than 3/16". I feel somewhat decieved by this, since its almost 25% less than advertised. I also had to call customer service because one wire end had already come detached from edge wire, & they shipped me a new set very quickly. New set was same size. Also, the side tables get very hot because there is little seperation from firebox. Finally, as other reviewer noted, the unit needs a back panel. It becomes a dirt collector very quickly & also does not let rainwater drain. Couldn't cost more than another $20 or so to add that. It does cook very evenly, but will take some time to get used to correct temp. settings.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Ducane 30742101 Affinity 4100 4-Burner Natural Gas Grill (Lawn & Patio)
I really wanted a quality natural gas grill for a good price. This seemed to fit based on the amount of online research I did prior to settling on this brand and model. Couldn't afford a Weber of this size, so I got the next best thing - Ducane, which is now owned/made by Weber.

Received my grill last week after weeks of waiting for it to come in stock. Price ($419) was comparible to other vendors [...]

The grill was fairly easy to put together, but I was glad there was two of us doing it. Made things easier. Took a little over an hour to put together. Seems sturdy and well made. Be sure you have a socket set for tightening all the nuts.

So far, I've used the grill twice. Starts instantly, gets very hot. Will take some time to figure out the right temperature settings to use. Burned some whole baking potatoes pretty quickly the first time using the grill.

One complaint - I wish the cart under the grill had a back to it. There are two stainless steel doors on the front of the cart, which gives the illusion of storage, however there is no back to the cart - you can see right in. What good are the doors on the front then? I could understand for the propane version of the grill, but I expected there to be storage since this is natural gas and no tank needs to sit under the grill.

So far, seems like it was worth the wait. Even though grilling season is coming to an end already here in Milwaukee, I'm still glad I bought this grill.
