Book Description

October 21, 2001
Few of the world's motorcycles evoke such high emotion as the Ducati. This book captures that emotion in a vividly illustrated historical review of every major design, including the Cucciolo auxiliary bicycle engine in the late 1940s and Ducati's first mass-produced motorcycle, the 1958 Elite 200, and the Scrambler, 750 GT, Pantah, 851, Monster and today's MH900e. Interviews with the protagonists who shaped the company and its products make this a complete tribute to what makes Ducatis so special. Details about the original factory's products -- condensers, radios, projectors, and mini-cameras -- are featured for a well-rounded account about the company's history.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have for Ducatistas, December 7, 2005
By
Giomezzo "Charles D. Lombino" (Henderson, NV United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Ducati: Design and Emotion (Hardcover)
This book captures the beauty and the power of the Ducati line. An excellent history of the manufacturer, along with a prosiac but clear description of the key models and their importance. Part Art Book, part Motorcycle Mania, part Legend, just like the Bikes.

3.0 out of 5 stars LAAAAMMMEEEEE!, September 12, 2008
This review is from: Ducati: Design and Emotion (Hardcover)
Just plain silly. Almost a sales pitch for the Mh900e. Very little good info. But it's somewhat full of Ducati pics...so, not all bad.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lost in Translation, September 6, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Ducati: Design and Emotion (Hardcover)
This is a very nice book picturewise but the text must be losing something in translation. I found it to be wandering, rambling and not always to the point. Giulio doesn't really follow a timeline historically and detours into cars, the philosophy of motorbicycles and social subjects. It certainly distracts.
