(VINE VOICE)    (REAL NAME)
The success story of Louisa Leyton, a young scullery maid who, through her beauty as well as her skill as a cook, became the hostess and intimate friend of peers, princes and kings. Later Louisa bought the run-down, seedy looking Bentinck Hotel, and despite her problems with a drunken husband, ill-health, and financial difficulties she transformed the old place into an international meeting place for the rich that became a legend in its own lifetime.

During times of stress I pick up a quick read. This one was much better than most. Characters were very real to me and the plot kept me inovlved and engaged.
