We bought this tape for two reasons; one to edge our basement floor to get it ready to paint, and two for me. I like to use painter's tape for labeling certain items, to attach notes to just about anything, and I have other random uses for it. I used to use duct tape for random things..like labels, & bundling items together, etc. Duct tape always left a sticky residue that painter's tape doesn't leave. Well, this clean release painter's tape isn't sticky enough to even hold a note; it sticks to the paper but doesn't stay stuck to random surfaces. I'm going to have to find another brand for my use. However, it worked perfectly when we used it to edge our basement floor to get it ready for painting (our floor was painted quite a few years ago & needed to be redone; it was clean when we used the tape). We left the tape on the floor for almost 14 days before we painted, & waited until the paint was dry before we pulled up the tape. We couldn't believe our eyes when we pulled up the tape. The line was straight with no paint bleed through at all & the tape didn't leave a sticky residue on the floor.
