I was impressed by how well this kit was prepared. You get the plastic, little alcohol wipes to prep the window frames (very thoughtful), plenty of double-sided tape, and actually a nice little instruction sheet. They recommend using a hair dryer to obtain a better seal, but I have had no issues applying the plastic to the tape with no added heat. My only quibble is that the backing of the double-sided tape is nearly impossible to remove, leading to frantic picking with a fingernail at one edge to try to expose it. THAT took nearly 5 minutes a window. I have tried every technique I can think of and the process of removing the backing still instills dread in the core of my soul. My body, however, is rather pleased with the reduced draftiness.

I didn't purchase the kit from Amazon. But I am ordering the second kit from Amazon. I was surprised to see any negative reviews at all about this product. It works great for me. Have had it on the windows for about 3-weeks and I check them all the time because I'm so amazed that something so simple works so well.
I have really old windows (TONS of them) that were original with my 85 year old house. They were SOOOOO drafty and I secretly wish my husband would replace them. Anyway, I just wiped the frames down with the alcohol pads provided. It was a bit cold outside when I put the film on so I warmed the window frames with the blow dryer first since the instructions say not to put it on frames that are 40 degrees (in temperature) or less. I don't know if the frames were 40 degrees or less but warming them up wasn't a big deal. After that it was just a matter of putting the tape on the frames, peeling the paper off the other side of the tape, sticking the measured plastic on and shrinking the plastic with the blow dryer. Honestly, you can't even see the film! The box said not to use this particular product for windows without molding so I got the outside kit too for my bathroom windows as they're framed but only on the outside. I couldn't be happier, or warmer!

Found that the tape sticks to the wall really well, but not to the plastic at all. Managed to pull some of the stain off of the woodwork, but will have a drafty bedroom until I have a chance to purchase another brand product. It is too bad too, as regular Duck tape is awesome. Will never buy this product again, and would recommend against anyone else purchasing it.
