My quest to finding this product began one day when my computer started to act up. Upon further investigation, I found that it was overheating due to excessive dust on the heat sink(s) inside the case. This led me to find a filter of sorts for any air inlets which would be prone to sucking dust into the case. After searching online for a bit, I found several manufacturers making this sort of filter specifically for computer cases, all at ridiculous prices. That is what led me to find this product. It works great for filtering dust out of the inlets, it's easy to cut and size to various fans/holes, and it's easily squishable to form a gasket of sorts between the fan and the case. That makes it even harder for dust to get into the case. Upon installing this product, I found that the level of dust in the case dropped off considerably and the computer's performance returned quickly to where it was before.

Pros:

- Forms a good gasket
- Filters dust very well
- Very well priced

Cons:
- Not really a con but I can't tell you how well this would work for an air conditioner...

In addition to an air conditioner filter, This seems to work fine as a replacement filter for any of the 101 small appliances which use the thin foam as a filter. Easy to trim to proper size and shape.

I had hoped for a finer mesh filter. But this does an adequate job on dust/lint, and is very easy to wash. For especially dusty or sooty environments, this probably wouldn't be a very effective filter.

This stuff is also perfect for making custom fan filters. Its been keeping my PC dust free for about a month now and doesn't restrict air flow as much as demci filters.

Couldn't find this product locally, so ordered online. Product was as advdertised and of good quality; arrived in timely manner. Very pleased with vendor service. If you have window air conditioners, this is a good choice for a replacement filter.

I cut this filter into two smaller pieces: one for my small window air conditioner, and another for the intake fan on my PC tower. It works fantastic for both!

The foam filter on the back of our 30 year old or so dehumidifier was crumbling. This was just what I needed. I cut to size and inserted it in the plastic frame from the existing filter. I now have enough material left for another filter hopefully years down the road. I just need to remember where I put the extra piece!

We were given an old GE air conditioner by some friends, but it was missing the permanent reusable filter. I called the company and they said we could buy a new one, but it would cost about 6 times more than this Duck product. We decided there wasn't much to lose, ordered this filter, and cut it down to the right size. It worked great all summer, just take it out and wash it gently when it gets dirty and put it back in. I'm sure it's nearly as effective as the expensive filter GE wanted us to buy, and at a fraction of the cost.
