I put this on a huge wall of single pane windows in my house. My gas bill dropped 25%, which is just what the computer model said it should. This stuff just works. It's not 100% crystal clear, but it's better than I would have imagined. I found the tape needed some real pressing to get it to stick, but I don't want tape that is too strong, ripping the paint off when removing -- I like it.
I blew a hole in it with the heat gun. Learn from my mistake and do lots of light, fast passes with the heat gun. If you dwell in one place too long, you can melt the plastic.

All my windows are non-standard sizes. This over size patio length allows me to cut down to the size I need with out having to tape two of the standard size plastic together. I do wish Amazon had this in the warehouse earlier than NOV. I live in Chicago and needed the plastic by mid OCT. The price is much better than buying it at the hardware store. It works great to cut down on drafts.

I live in Southern California, and while we don't get the freezing temps that other parts of the country have, it's always nice to have a little more insulation.
I bought this to seal up an old, single paned sliding glass door. Out of the box, it doesn't seem like much: just a roll of double-sided tape, some alcohol wipes, and the film. As I started applying the tape, I noticed that it wasn't very tacky. I was a bit cautious as to whether or not it would hold up the film. The instructions say to heat up the tape as you're applying it to increase adhesive performance. I did that, and it helped to increase the tackiness a bit. However, it starts going down hill from there. After you stick the film to the tape, you have to use a blow dryer to stretch the film in order to get the wrinkles out. As I was doing that, the film pulled away from the adhesive. I had to keep re-sticking the film to get it to hold. Eventually, I got all the wrinkles out. After a few days, however, the film started to separate again due to the tension of the shrinking. I have to re-stick the film every so often to maintain the seal. One thing I noticed about this product is that the film is not very clear; at least in some parts. Some parts of the film have this haziness to it that can't be removed. If you need to actually, you know, see through the windows, I suggest you look elsewhere. I recommend that you go with the 3M/Scotch version of this product. The tape is much tackier and the film is crystal clear.
