you probably need to know, August 26, 2010
Just got this brand new. I ordered a 9 1/2 but ended up about 1/2 in. bigger than i thought. I wear a 9 1/2 pair of puma running shoes and they fit a little bit tight and everything else I wear is a 9 1/2 and snug, so I thought it would be nice to get a little snugly with these. but no. Would be nice to have known that. If I wore a 10, I think i would be pretty happy with these pair. Probably going to return it. I'm not sure how these compare to the real Birkenstock because I have never owned one. I just thought these would be nice for indoor and outdoor use. For the quality. I think if you try and run around with these allot, it could get messed up (like the leather might tare from the sole, but that's just from current observation, looks like it's just glued). The part that covers your feet seems thin (only leather, there is no other material in there) but for the part the bottom of your feet is on seems pretty comfy and I like it. I also bought a Rockport Men's Trinchero Plain Toe Oxford,Black,9.5 M, the same time I got these clogs, but also came 1/2 in bigger. But they are really nice. Including the problem with the size, it make running in these shoes uncomfortable.
Over all if you want a pair of birkenstock's but don't want to spend that much I would try these (for the looks is a go - but no info on comparison with comfort or durability) . But from my current situation try 1/2 in. smaller from regular tennis shoes.
