4.0 out of 5 stars entertaining toy for kids
This toy is very entertaining for kids. I was a little concerned b/c some of the reviews said that when flying the duck- it crashed stright to the ground and wouldn't fly. This is untrue if you lightly floss it rather than throwing it. Another concern was a reveiw that stated that you didn't have to actually point the gun at the duck and it would still count as a shot-...

1.0 out of 5 stars Alluring, but disappointing!
After seeing this item on TV, my son was quick to put it on his Christmas list, and Santa obliged. Unfortunately, the duck doesn't "fly," but instead plummets directly to the ground, making the toy completely unusable. Will be returning it for a refund.

This is untrue if you lightly floss it rather than throwing it. Another concern was a reveiw that stated that you didn't have to actually point the gun at the duck and it would still count as a shot- well it's a kids toy. We're not snippers at the gun range- it's made of plactic and styrofoam. Definatly worth the money- if you go to Toyrus or Cabellas where it's much cheaper.

I am 13 and got this toy for Christmas from Uncle. It works very. Generally it works best for two people but one works too. You want to charge it for something like 30-40 seconds, not 10. 10 will do nothing. Nothing at all. The white knob shouldn't really be fiddled with, but occasionally you get a really cool setting where it will go in perfect circles and works great. I thought the trigger was rather lame, it's not easy to press down and hold for as long as you like. Also, charging the duck can be annoying, because it has to be at 0% energy, which basically means you have about five to six flights and then have to wait for it to drain out because it won't work. Despite what the duck originally looks like, it's quite sturdy (I flew it into the fireplace where it started pumping ashes because the wings were flapping, and it still works great). Also, the gun pump isn't the best idea for a pistol shaped gun. Something on the back where your thumb could reach would be better. And even if your duck breaks, the gun makes a good simple pistol for cops an' robbers.

All in all, it works very well, but it could've used a little fine-tuning. What would've made it AWESOME if it was remote controlled by someone else!! That would have been AMAZING!!

I recommend this to anyone who wants to have a little fun. (But it isn't really for older kids.)

4.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious!!, December 30, 2009

All I will say is that my four year old laughs uncontrollably when playing with this toy. Maybe he laughs more at my reaction to the duck flying at my head as I yell "shoot the duck, shoot the duck!!" Worth the money and as I read the other reviews that say it doesn't fly my advice is on the base of the tale of the duck there is a small white plastic piece which you can adust left or right. If you adjust this white piece all the way to the left and then toss the duck to the right it will fly in a perfect circle around your living room and will not nose dive. I agree that going straight ahead it struggles to stay in the air. No this is not the most high tech device but it can be good for a laugh now and then.

1.0 out of 5 stars bogus product misrepresents itself, December 6, 2010

My 13 year old instantly figured out that the product is not what it claims. There is no so-called "infrared beam" to hit and stop the flying duck. Instead the duck responds to a noise made by the gun when the gun is shot. This means that your aim is irrelevant. That quickly took the fun (and the whole point) out of the game, if you're 13 or older.

This toy is definitely NOT worth purchasing for any amount of money. It is very poorly made. The duck does not fly. When you toss it in the air, it just comes crashing down. I read another review to gently toss not trow in the air. That did not work either. I beg all of you, do not buy this toy.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for someone else, and I am sorry that I did. (how embarassing) This toy does not function properly. It flies straight to the ground everytime. Someone mentioned to adjust the tail. This does not help at all! This toy is junk and is definitely not worth the price. Nor any price for that matter. I wouldn't even buy it at a YARD SALE for [...]. Good concept, but needs a lot more engineering before it will be anything like they advertise on TV. DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!! JUNK JUNK JUNK!!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Duck hunter, July 18, 2010
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Duck Hunter - Indoor Flying Duck Hunt Game (Toy)
First off, the entire duck is made out of plastic, most of which brakes very easily. The infrared rays sent

by the gun grow as they go further, making it way to easy to shoot down the duck. The last time i

used it, i shot it down pretty early, but when it hit the ground, the plastic that the wing is made of, tore

rendering the entire toy useless. The game was amusing the first few tries, but became boring after four

or five turns.

My son recieved this toy for Christmas. He enjoyed playing with it. The only problem is that you must shot the duck 3 times. By the third shot, the duck has already fallen to the floor. The first 2 shots are fun!

The duck hunter game was given to my son from Santa. Christmas was pretty lean this year, but thats how it goes. The duck wasnt even close to being able to fly. I mean it just dropped to the ground, even with new batteries. (I tried several new batteries.) The only thing I can think of why it wouldn't fly is we are at 7000 feet in elevation. I couldn't find anywhere on the box that said anything about the air being too thin at any elevation. So maybe its a fine product, but it wouldn't work at all where we live. Its sad but I don't even want to go through the hassle of trying to return it. I'm just saving up to get something else for my kid. It would be nice to hear back from someone and find out if the elevation has anything to do with it not flying here. I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. So this isn't a BAD review, I'm just not sure if the toy is garbage or if the air is just to thin here.
