From School Library Journal
PreSchool-Simplicity is the hallmark of this vibrant board book. A group of ducklings imitate the adult ducks around them as they go "a-dabbling" in the water ("Heads down, tails up") in search of food. The warm acrylic paintings are filled with the blues of the water, the greens of the reeds, and the yellows of the ducks, making the rhyme even more inviting to children. Although some vocabulary might need explanation, the pacing and the flow of Grahame's poem from The Wind in the Willows make it a successful choice for young listeners.
