A wonderful collection of stories from the heart,
By Fred Lehmann (Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Duck Soup Vignettes of Country Life (Paperback)
Congratulations Inge on a wonderful collection of stories from life on the farm! I too have had a life in the country and can relate to your experiences. I too raised ducks and chickens, but as a child. Your heartwarming stories are obviously from the heart. I particularly liked the 'Window Box' and the'Secret Garden'. My husband has just started reading the book and is also enamoured with it.Jeanette Lehmann.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It is a collection of many enchanting short stories that are full of love, joy and humor. I like the variety of subjects the author wrote from the joys of country life to the encounters with nature and animals. The stories are filled with feeling and personal experiences. I find the stories so real and very easy to relate to. They are uplifting and encouraging. For those who have children or pets, this is a must read book. Annie

Richly Rewarding,

A charming book. Simple tales of country life full of warmth, wit and wisdom. Good to read, and good to read again. What's it about? Life. Told in a straightforward narrative style that's deceptively simple. It seems as if this writer has lived a lot. The stories aren't long. The simplicity belies the keenness of her observations and the integrity of her opinions. Deeply felt and moving. I especially enjoyed reading one in the evening before sleep. It was like visiting an old friend.

A woman's view of love for all living things,
By A Customer
This review is from: Duck Soup Vignettes of Country Life (Paperback)
This book contains stories on a large variety of experiences with animals, children and family activities. It brings into focus the simple pleasures derived from country living while reaching into the twentyfirst century. Much like the desire people express in wanting to sit on the front porch of a Victorian house, these stories show us that by simply opening our eyes and taking the road less traveled, we can remove ourselves from the stresses of modern life and nourish our souls by opening our hearts to nature, without having to escape to a different time. Wonderful stories shared by an obviously sensitive person who is very much in touch with her feelings and knows how to express them well.
