I bought this product to hook up to a light that would warn when the temp in our lake house would go below 50 degrees to alert our neighbor. With no numbered thermostate to set the temp you have to bring it into an enviroment with the temp you want to set it at to calibrate it. The calibration instructions are easy to follow and I called product support to double check if I was doing it right and they were very helpfull. It would be a much better product if it just had a numbered faced thermostate so you did not have to go through all the steps required to calibrate it.

I got this to control a 40-watt incandescent light bulb which warms the inside of my oven for proofing bread dough (it only needs to be 80 - 90 degrees). I use a conventional thermometer to calibrate the temperature. Overall it works well and I'm quite pleased with it. This setup has saved me more than $100 over a conventional bread-dough proofing box.

You have to wrap your head around the heating and cooling mode concept, but the manual is clear on this. Keep in mind that it is intended to control a duct-mounted booster fan, not an actual heating or A/C unit. For my application, controlling an actual heat source, it has to be in the "cool" mode. This seems counterintuitive but remember it is intended to control a booster fan, not the actual heating/cooling device. Again, the manual is clear in this regard.
