Editorial Reviews

Review

""Few parenting books have been as honest, funny and true as this look at what happens to a man the moment he becomes a dad! Sure, there have been thousands written about the moms of the world, but finally the male side of the parenting coin is getting the attention it deserves!""-- C.C. Chapman, Dad & author of Amazing Things Will Happen

""There are dozens of baby books out there to choose from. There are very few dad books. And none of them provide the useful insight and hilarious honesty offered in Dude To Dad: The First 9 Months. As a future dad, I plan to keep this book glued to my hand at all times. It may not make fatherhood easy, but it will certainly make it a little less terrifying.""-- Mike Billeter, Dude & author of Samuel Sporter, the Bravest Reporter

""Hugh avoids the well worn path of self mockery and dad defeatism to offer a sincere take on fatherhood for those of us dads-to-be that are neither buffoons nor deadbeats."" -- Bobby George, Dude & Co-Founder of Baan Dek Montessori & Montessorium

""No one tells you the truth when you're going to have a kid...until now. Hugh Weber has found the perfect tone, layout and words to communicate what really goes on in the head and heart of every man who finds out he's getting a new title, dad. You'll laugh out loud in the first two pages and you'll learn more than your in-laws will ever tell you by page six. IMPORTANT TIP: Buy this book and read it in front of your wife. She'll feel like you want to be a great dad but need some help, which is totally true. You do need help and you can be a great dad, thanks to Hugh.""-- Andy Traub, author of Early To Rise

""Are you ready to be enlightened? ...over and over again with the amazing real-world insights within. and, don't be surprised if you are inspired to be a dad over and over again after reading this book!""-- RiCardo Crespo / 4x proud daddy / Former Creative Director for Mattel Inc. & Global Creative Lead at 20th Century Fox

I bought this book for my husband. When it came in the mail, I intended to read the first few pages to him, and we ended up reading the whole book together in one session.

Dude To Dad is not only full of humor and entertainment, but it also has some real tips for dads that my husband and I haven't read anywhere else.

As a couple expecting our first baby, we've been reading everything we can get our hands on, but this has by far been the best book we've found for dads!

"Dude to Dad" offers humor without fake humility, and parenting advice without the "dumbing down" language aimed at dads. My husband loved it, reading lines from the book. At that moment, I knew my husband HAD contemplated eating a double bacon cheeseburger while I was in labor. Hugh speaks truth! Buy this! Your recipient will be thankful that she or he can put off reading the Dr. Sears parenting library.

This book is an easy, essential read for expectant dads (even those still just 'practicing'). Hugh's simple advice is important and makes us better men. Highly recommend.

i gave this book for a friend whose wife is pregnant with their first child. He loved it. It was an effortless read, full of great no-nonsense advice, and has awesome illustrations (I may have opened it up for a sneak read before I gifted it.) Overall, he gave it two thumbs up.

This book is a honest guide on how to maneuver yourself through the 9 months of prep in dealing with that life changing fact that you're going to become a father. Hugh does a great job in combining subtle humor with important emotional and practical issues, but also remaining true to the course of what it means to become a father. While staying away from a how-to state of facts, Hugh does a great job at allowing the reader to infer and come to his/her own conclusions based on his experience. That is why Dude to Dad is a great read - for upcoming fathers, and guys in general.

It's a book that every guy should read.

What's not to love about a book for fathers that doesn't treat future dads as though their only role in parenting will be to assist, support and appease. This book will help any dude to feel more confident about their role as a dad by giving them key information in an easy-to-understand format instead of 5 pages about the mucus plug mixed in with endless chapters about every minute detail that may or may not apply to your pregnancy and delivery. Go dads go!
