5.0 out of 5 stars This novel has a highly satisfying and unique storyline., July 24, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Due Process (Paperback)
My first reading of a Catherine Arnold novel was most rewarding. While the acceptance of a pro bono case by highly successful attorney Karen Perry-Mondori was initially difficult to accept (difficult to her fellow law partners as well), I was soon swept along by what followed. While the plot was quite unique to me, Arnold did a very fine job of resolving all the tangled threads of her story. Principal characters are well developed: you either care for them, or you look forward to their fall. As one who loves legal novels with an "all's well that ends well" story, I sure enoyed this one. Having now read the first of the Perry-Mondori cases, I now have "Imperfect Justice" and "Wrongful Death" in my library ready (and about) to be read.

2.0 out of 5 stars simplistic and dull, September 6, 1999
This review is from: Due Process (Paperback)
The book contains all the elements for a nice legal thriller but somehow it never takes off. The characters are flat and the plot is so simple that already after one third of the book it is absolutely clear what happend. The relationships between the characters are all of the black and white type. Either they are very nice or they are complete idiots like the judge and the managing partner of the company. The personal relationship between wife and husband is of a similar type; they love each other dearly, but five minutes within the first row the man wants to book a marriage counsellor... All in all, not recomended reading.
