Yellowjackets are Out of Season,
By R Pretlor (Silver Spring, Maryland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: In Due Season EP (Audio CD)
I have finally found a CD that can compare to the legendary Yellowjackets. This group is obviously "In Due Season" and have what it takes to endure for decades. Comparing to Jazz greats like Dave Koz, Incognito, and Kirk Whalum is a new season of fresh jazz elements that takes the genre to another level. This young band has really proven to the world, that they are here to stay. I am greatly anticipating the full release, instead of this EP teaser, but thank God they have risen, the jazz world can use a lift; IN DUE SEASON!

Unbelievable!!!!,

I was down in the Washington, DC area and had a chance to check these brothers out when they performed at the SIPPS. Their saxophonist is unbelievable. The young brother is the second coming of saxophonists like Sonny Rollins, and John Coltrane. I'm a saxophonist myself (35 years) and I've can count on 1 hand the guys with the technical profiency and big sound of this young cat. For the sake the Jazz community please unleash this you lion on the new CD!!!

4 In due season,

I had listen to the cd and found it to be relaxing and soothing to the soul,I definetly give alot of prop's to the drummer and bass player as they seemed essential to the band, the sweet sound of the saxophone really put things into melody. In due season is definetly off the hook and the music that this band produce's cannot be found in any giving place,"In due season is surely a rare essence to the industry opposed to music of today..."keep strummin' that string music man."

I picked this CD up based solely upon the reviews posted on this site. The accolades conveyed toward this group are well deserved. These guys are very nice. Their sound is unique. Smooth like ?Fatburger? but more intense yet cool Pieces of a Dream. I'm stationed Korea and will have to spread the word to my brothers around the world on this one. In Due Season is silky smooth. Five stars Nupe style!

Fresh and Refreshing,
By A Customer
This review is from: In Due Season EP (Audio CD)
It's very refreshing to hear a smooth jazz CD with some pinache and guts. Gone are the sterile instrumentation and boring hooks. These guys have soul. In the age of sampling and techno babble it's a treat to hear these guys playing their hearts and souls off! It's truly scary because I've seen these guys live and you've heard just a touch of what they sound like. They are truly a rare breed. They play with so much emotion. They have a horn player who is off the hook and he's not even on the CD. I can't wait to buy their next CD. I expect big things from "In Due Season".
