An Anointed Project,
By Lindell Young (Columbus, OH United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Duets (Audio CD)
This CD is AWESOME! I first heard a promotional copy my brother had. As my relationship with the Lord deepened, I went out and bought a copy for myself. I hope as I grow stronger in the Lord, I will purchase a copy of this God-inspired CD for the person who is at the heart of my trial. The anointing these brothers and their guests have is evident on every song from "Cooling Water" through the instrumental version of "After the Storm." When you experience a trial, the songs on this CD can be an elixir for your spirit and get you out of yourself and into God--who, by the way, is bigger than all of our problems! Get this CD and magnify the Lord!

Duets features some of Gospel's Biggest Names and Hits,
By Rev. Isaac Tyrone Lindsey, Sr. (Chicago, Illinois, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Duets (Audio CD)
Duets by Doug Williams & Melvin Williams of The Williams Brothers is one of the best collections of recorded Gospel Music that offers a lot of variety and features some of the biggest names in the business. The lead radio singles, "Cooling Water" by Melvin Williams featuring the hottest Artist in the Quartet Arena by the name of Lee Williams of The Spiritual QC's certainly has that down home Gospel/Blues type feeling that will certainly guarantee this album mega-hit status with Traditional Gospel Music Lovers; while "After The Storm" by Doug Williams featuring the Grammy-Award Winning voice of Yolanda Adams takes you to another level and on an Urban/Contemporary Gospel experience that you will want to share with everyone who has ever had any type of trials and tribulations in their lives. Gospel Legends and Hit-makers -Pastor Shirley Caesar, Joe Ligon of The Mighty Clouds of Joy, Rev. John P. Kee, Harvey Watkins, Jr. of The Canton Spirituals, Bishop Marvin Winans, Duranice Pace of The Anointed Pace Sisters, Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr. and Debbie Austin also share their talents with Doug and Melvin by making guest appearances on several songs contained on this compilation and they all add their own unique flavor to each selection. I also dare not forget to mention that the musicians and instrumentation on this project are exceptional and nothing less than flawless. This wonderful musical offering was produced by Melvin Williams, Doug Williams, and Henry Green for their very own Blackberry Records. Buy extra copies today. You'll love it!...Pick Hits include: Cooling Water, After The Storm, Peace In My Heart, Out of Myself, Be With Me Jesus, and Living Testimony

As the much-pleased owner of the respective Doug and Melvin Williams albums from which four of the selections featured on this disc are originally found, I couldn't be more overjoyed with the purchase of this one. The Williams Brothers still remain a driving force with very few equals in the gospel music arena. This compilation, featuring their pairings with contemporary stars, is a straightforward exercise in "praising the Lord" and uplifting the spirit. 'Shout "Hallelujah!"

This is a must have CD. The holy spirit is in the brothers. When you hear the song Cooling Water a duet with the marvelous Lee Williams of the Lee Williams & the Spiritual QC's set this CD off. All the artist on this CD is wonderful.

Highly Spirited,

As a proud owner of almost all the Williams Brothers' music I am not surprised at the wonderful job done by these two brothers. Only a few can compare to these guys. Their talent is so remarkable. Their music is explosive and filled with such annoitment. Any time I listen to music coming from them I am moved by the spirit. Keep up the good work guys!! You are wonderful and truly the best!!!

This is by far this best gospel cd I have ever purchased. I have brought at least 12 to give to families and friends. I usually end up enjoying one or two songs on a cd. Out of 12 songs, there are 9 that I play over and over again. I was a volunteer for Hurricane Katrina relief effort. The song, 'After the Storm' was such a comfort to me during this time. Playing 'After the Storm', will have you looking in the sky for a rainbow and finding it! For praise dancers 'Never Seen Your Face' is the song to express through dance. This is my first review for anything because I never want to be the cause of someone buying something based on my opinion and being unhappy. But I had to share my joy about this cd.

The Williams Brothers are a fantastic group with an ageless sound. They have managed to bring the "word" set to music while keeping it very real. This album reminds me of the warm harmonies of older gospel groups, but with the straight ahead arrangements suited for today's listener. I have been richly blessed when hearing this album and I must say that I am a daily listener to it and their other albums. For my hearing, I enjoy mostly gospel music, some jazz and lots of love ballads. This album has all of those genres and more. The best part is that it always brings you back to the love of God which is ever so real. I love this album and I know you will too.

Cooling Waters,

I have always loved "old school" gospel music and this CD reminds me of that. It is upbeat and words are easily understood without a lot of loud instruments and inaudible lyrics. Duets is a very good CD.
