4.0 out of 5 stars Great find of obscure stuff, September 22, 2005
This review is from: Duets (Audio CD)
This double CD has also been released under the title GET HAPPY. It's an odd, but interesting, pairing -- one CD of duets from her 1963-64 tv series and one CD of her 1951 Palace Act. For historical purposes, the Palace Act is most interesting in that it's a solid record of her live performance just after she exited MGM and returned to the stage.

The CD with duets from her tv shows have been covered on other CD releases of late, but the tv series provides yet another source to get some unique performances of material that wasn't normally part of her catalogue. The performances are always good, but Judy had some days better than others and at times, you wish they could do a re-take. But, all things being equal, for fans, it's simply good to have as much stuff out there as possible for the likes of her will not come this way again.

Digitally Remastered RARE recording of Judy's famous 1951 Palace concert after getting fired from MGM. Talk about comeback! Inspiring to anyone.
Concert is complete with patter and laughter. A real gem. You feel like you are actually there.

4.0 out of 5 stars Judy At Her Best!, September 6, 2006
This review is from: Duets (Audio CD)
This is a great Judy Garand CD.I just love the duets she sings with her friends fro her show. I wasen't all that crazy about the Palace cd. That's because I like Judy's voice the best in the 60s and late 50s. I still like her voice before the 60s and late 50s. But that that part of her life is my favorite.

In the topten Judy Galand CDs, this would be #2. Judy At Carnegie Hall would be #1 becuase of it's famous popularity. I remember seeing PBS'S videos of these songs, they needed a lot of editing because the audio was about two stars. But with the re-mastered CD it gets totally better!
