Another Vega valentine to urban stress, with industrial-strength beats welded to anxious lyrics ("Hammered") and jungle images ("Dujang Prang"). Unlike the nervous rockabilly of his earliest albums, the sound here is fully up-to-date, well-produced electronica ("Saturn Drive 2," "Jaxson Gnome") that goes great with Vega's apocalyptic visions. It's an album not relieved by much beauty (even though he's still a romantic at heart) but the sound is hypnotic, and the accompanying "cartoon-noir" art reinforces the music's dark imagery.
