5.0 out of 5 stars Wit, Action, and More Cool Stuff
By far Duke Nukem 3D is the best 3D action shooter I have ever seen. I rank it above all current 3D titles include Unreal Tournament and Quake III. Why? Because Duke Nukem has things you wouldn't expect to see in ordinary 3D Shooters. With all the action you experiences the game has many humorous refference and to top it all off Duke Talk.

I really don't recommend...

I really don't recommend letting youngsters get there hands on this game as it is full of offensive materials and adult content, but if that stuff offends you don't worry the game has the feature to remove any adult content.

There is one downside. With certain soundcards the game may crash under certain conditions, you can get a patch to repair this.

The game also features the build editor which allows you to create your own 3D worlds.

5.0 out of 5 stars The one game that lived up to its hype and more. It not only Kicked A... but did it twice for good measure., January 10, 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition (CD-ROM)
This game truly lived up to the saying "They dont make em like this anymore" A silly wonderfull shootem up based on the then newly developed build engine which was put to amusing use in Blood, Shadow Warrior and Redneck Rampage. Interactive enviorments, saucy dialog, and some mean space aliens and our beloved Duke. His one liners have shown up in movies like "They Live" and the Evil Dead movies. Even Dukes frustrating "Where is it" when your trying to find the secret switch, showed up in Men in Black where Edgar Roach finding out he dosent have the galaxy but a diamond case cries out in the same plaintiff Duke voice "Ohh, where is it."
Except for 3d Realms, many fun companys have gone belly up or corporate bought, Interplay, Bullfrog, Maxis, bastions of creativity either shut down or now run by the suits. Well heres hoping the Duke Nukem Forever is not just a pipe dream or in Dukes case a pipe bomb and that we will rejoice one day to see it released.

after a few years of rehab from the addicting play of Duke Nukem 3D I am back repurchasing it again and going down for the count. I can't help but laugh my butt off when I play this game. Its famous "one liners" or example "Your face your ass whats the difference." or my favourite "Its time to kick ass and chew bubble gum but I am all out of gum." GT Interactive payed homage to the one of greatest movies ever "Evil Dead 2". This game is a classic and a must have for FPS fans and it even pokes fun of Doom. God, I am going to spend endless hours reliving my Childhood in this game. Please Buy you won't regret it.

Man, this game is really cool. Come here, i have some codes: dnkroz make you be a god, you will not die. With dnstuff you can get all the guns... And with dnclip you can discover secret places in the walls... But this game is one of the most cool games I ever played. Ok, Duke Nuken seems Ash, of the Evil Dead Trilogy, 'cause ash said "hail to the king, baby", "uh,that's gotta hurt!", "come get some" and other words before duke nuken. But is an exellent game

5.0 out of 5 stars The ULTIMATE of any Game EVER, January 8, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition (CD-ROM)
If you like good games-get this one! This is without a doubt the best 1st person shooter, and game for that matter. You go around killing aliens with futuristic and modern weapons both explosive and automatic. It also features "Duke Talk". "Duke Talk" is a combinations of humorous, wittey, applicable, and sly remarks. The codes even make it better. Also, this game has an unusual feature that makes it better than the rest, "User.Con". A file that if opened as a text document offers complete and total control over the games settings (ammo and gun amount), titles and messages, and even FECE control. Thats right! Fece control. Select how much any of the characters make {droppings}. The graphics aren't that great, but who cares! It is still definitely the best game ever and will never be beat!

Possibly the manliest game ever made. It was a fun game over a decade ago
when it was released, and it's still a blast today! The fun weapons and the endless wisecracks from Duke are what make this game. Simply a fun game from the good old days. Truly a classic!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Classic!, October 13, 2002

"Come Get Some!"

Wolfenstein, Doom, and Quake have done wonderful first-person shooters.

This one is just downright fun. You can turn off suggestive double entendres for your kids, or enjoy them yourself. Get the bad guys, but why be just scary & dry -- why not have some fun along the way?? Duke does it!

Find a copy of this golden oldie, and fire it up. Some day, the sequel will arrive, but, for now, this is IT!

This game is really cool. Lots of gags, great gameplay and better weapons then doom. This is a pure quality game and by far the best duke nukem game. If you like 1st person shoot em ups this game is a must.

A really brilliant game, not to mention violent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still one of the best, March 3, 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition (CD-ROM)
I remember playing the original unexpanded shareware version back when it first came out. my dad had brought home a copy from a computer show, and we played that game for what seemed like forever. first game we ever networked also.. I bought the atomic edition last year after wearing out the 1st episode.. graphics and gameplay might be getting more complex in games as the years go by, but if you just want a simple but challenging FPS. Duke Nukem 3D is it.. the Atomic edition just adds to everything.

I love playing Duke Nukem. I remember playing it when it first came out so I bought a copy to play. It is a great game. You need to run this game through an emulator like dos box. It is pretty easy to set up.
