Features include: a gameworld full of interactive opportunities; over-the-top humor; outlandish settings, vehicle driving, and puzzle solving; Duke specific multiplayer modes and more.
Along with the game, the Balls of Steel Edition contains a wealth of Duke Nukem items fit for collecting. See the complete list of items included below.
Heroes Come and Go, But a King Reigns Forever
Did the Alien bastards not learn their lesson the first time? Duke has been on hiatus for some time now, kicking back and franchising himself on the fame he gained from saving Earth from the first invasion. The Aliens have returned to Earth yet again, messing up Duke's sweet routine of dirty leisure habits. The Alien invaders are stealing Earth's women, especially the hot ones! And they drank Duke's beer. This-Won't-Stand. As Duke battles his way through waves of aliens, the once beautiful gambling haven and Duke Nukem franchise chains are crumbling before his eyes. Time to bring the pain
Duke Nukem is one of the biggest and most recognizable brands in gaming history. Irreverent, UN-PC, and uber-Macho, Duke Nukem is the perfect antidote to the overdose of today's clichéd gaming archetypes. The game's cocktail of alien invasion, busty babes, bawdy comedy and big guns never gets old. The highly anticipated Duke Nukem Forever is a celebration of what video games are really about: an out loud good time. The game is huge, with hours and hours of over-the-top single player action, and a range of bodacious multiplayer modes like Duke Match, Capture the Babe and Hail to the king, players can rest assured knowing that the fun will last.

But then it arrived, and I was reminded that trust in Duke is never misplaced! I don't really see the validity of the complaints leveled against this game, and can only imagine they were made by people unfamiliar with Duke Nukem as a whole, or who let themselves get Phantom Menace Syndrome over it. The game does sometimes lag for a split second, but it's never gotten in the way of my enjoyment. The graphics are fine enough for me, the load times are like 30-35 seconds at the worst, the puzzles are interesting, and if you play well, you won't be seeing too much of them, the weapons are interesting, and I like the levels. The game's flaws don't hamper it being super-fun. I was glad to see an FPS that's not a thinly veiled commercial for the Army. When's the last time you played one of those?
The Balls of Steel extra goodies are also wonderful! I don't understand how anyone could dislike them. There were some that I didn't care much about, like the sticker and papercraft, but they were still well done. The card deck, while small, is still really cool, as are the chips and dice. The bust... what did you expect, a foot and a half tall statue of Duke Nukem? It's not incredibly big, but it's well made, well detailed, and better than most game extras like this I've collected. The comic is cool, the certificate's nice, and the postcards are pretty spiffy. The art book is an absolute treasure, and its craftsmanship is remarkable.Read more ›
Some people say that the graphics are not as clear, yet it is ten times better than counter-strike's pictures for the big bosses and AI. I can see why ten years of R&D was put into this. And to purchase the Balls of Steel Edition is worth it in my opinion. Thank you very much.
AS for game play the Duke Nukem controls on PS3 are difficult to manage. The weapons are surprisingly weak in that they do little damage for all their noise and bluster. The weapons selection is lame since you are limited to carrying just two weapons in active inventory. The developers went too far in trying to keep the look and feel of the old Duke Nukem. Time marches on Duke Nukem developers forgot that time marches on and the game could have been lovingly updated without its game play being trapped in a 1990's time capsule. All that said the graphics are by far not the best I have ever seen but the graphics deliver an experience that is very playable on the PS3 system and my 55 inch TV screen.Read more ›

There are not actual 'balls of Steel' in this package. The game is fine, but seriously, I had to go on McMaster Carr and get my own steel balls. Read morePublished 5 months ago by Joseph R. Carapezza
