This album marks the begining of a new genre of music: Video Game soundtracks. Many people do not realize the hard work and talent that can go into producing a video game score. This Album is a fine example of quality music that can be found in a video game. I would like to specificaly say the work by Megadeth is excellent. It was also a treat to see that Megadeth's previously unreleased song, "New World Order," was included on this cd. Many fans of the band will be pleased. THe work by slayer on this album is also commendable. The mix of rap and rock combine to form a pleasurable mix of listening, day or night. I found the best track to be the Duke Nukem theme song, because it broughtback found memories of playing the original game. Hearing the theme in all it's glory performed by a proffesional band makes all the difference then listening to a midi card play it. I recommend it to all fans of the Duke Nukem game.

After having played the game, I drooled at the mention of a Duke Nukem Soundtrack. Megadeth, Sevendust, Stabbing Westward, and Slayer should be commended on their contributions to this cd. While a good contribution to the cd, I feel that the space devoted to rap would have been better spent on more metal, or some alternative or punk, all of which being heavy and/or up-tempo. Overall, this disk is a good buy.

Shameless tie-in, that's what. The only track on this CD that has anything to do with any Duke Nukem games is the Megadeth version of the theme. The only track on here I like is the COC one, but still.

The mishmash of different music styles makes no sense at all. The combination of metal, fruity rock(Coal Chamber), and rap just clash. Like I said before, the only track on here I liked was the Corrosion of Conformity song "Land of the Free Disease," and that's just because I like their old-school rock sound. I used to listen to Coal Chamber, and I still listen to Megadeth, but the whole thing is just a bad mix.

Even the extra PC content on the disc is pointless. What do crank phone calls have to do with the games at all? The screensavers, wallpapers and sound effects are all right, but it's not like you couldn't get better from the Plutonium Pak or Atomic Edition of Duke Nukem 3D.

In the end it comes down to the ads inside the insert for the Duke Nukem games. This disc is really only for hardcore Duke Nukem fanatics (if there even exists such a thing).

..........track 3 (What U See Is What U Get by Xzibit) is the "censored" version of the song. I put that in quotes because although all the bad words are bleeped out, at the end of the song he yells out "mother f***er" totally uncensored. What the hell was the point of censoring the other parts of the song when that part is allowed to be played? I was pissed that I got the censored version so that was insult to injury. The other rap songs on the album are uncensored, so I don't know wtf they were thinking with this. Well enough with the rap, the rock music here is what I enjoy most. I was pleasantly surprised by track 2 (Cinnamon Girl by Type O Negative) because the version on this CD (called "Extended Depression Mix") is way better than the version I had on my computer which I assume was the original. I didn't know I was getting this version but I'm glad I did. I can only give this album 4 stars because of my issue with track 3, but it's still worth buying if you enjoy listening to these artists.

I'm quite a Duke Nukem fan myself, I collect the,figures, the games, but I have never seen the most awsome CD since the South Park movie soundtrack!
