Book Description

In the ranks of NCAA college basketball, Duke University is like something scraped off the bottom of a shoe. It's like a nasty virus you catch from a door handle at a public toilet.

No team in sports is as uniquely hated as those smug, entitled, floor-slapping, fist-pumping, insufferable Blue Devils. The loathing has almost reached the level of a religion. Christian Laettner is a punk. Amen. The Cameron Crazies are obnoxious. The Plumlees are worthless times three. Coach K is a jerk. Kumbaya.

The team is dogged by an intense hatred that no other team can match--and for good reason. Millions of hoops fans and March Madness aficionados around the world are not imagining things. Duke really is evil, and within the pages of Duke Sucks, Reed Tucker and Andy Bagwell show readers exactly why Duke deserves to be so detested. They bruise and batter the Blue Devils with fact after fact, story after story, statistic after statistic. They build an airtight case that could stand up in a court of law.

So sit back in your "I Hate Duke" t-shirt, and in true Duke fashion, force someone poorer than you to do your work as you crack open the ultimate guide to Duke suckitude.

Tired of the sport networks obsession with Duke and Coach K? Then this is the book for you. A pure pleasure to read. It should be required reading for all incoming freshmen at ACC schools as well as for sports network talking heads (especially at ESPN).

4.0 out of 5 stars Good to read after any BullS**t Duke loss April 13, 2015

Good to read after any BullS**t Duke loss. Breaks down details related to things like the pro-Duke biased officiating that we all know exists. Wish the book was more tailored to all Duke haters, instead of just UNC Duke haters.

The Tarheels aren't the ONLY team that could claim to have a rivalry with the hated DOOKIES.

The many years in the past at ol Cole Field House - previous home of the Maryland Terps gave me many memories of the ACC. The DOOK - Terps tickets became hotter than the Redskins-Cowboys annual game.

EVERYTHING said in this book is TRUE. The only ones who would deny that ...are the 2.5 people in the country who attended DOOK, or bandwagon fans.

Go TERPS! Big TEN rules!!!!

You have to be a UNC grad to really appreciate it. My husband laughed out loud for days... I sat with a blank stare. He's the grad.

Brilliantly titled! Trenchant, scathing, mega-biased, vindictive, disparaging, fraught with pejoratives -- what more could anyone ask for? Of course the recipient and I are Tar Heels. (No kidding.)

Got this as a present for my husband. He loved it and read it cover to cover and he doesn't read anything longer than a magazine article so it must have been a good read.
