3.0 out of 5 stars Good CD but overall could of been a lot better, September 10, 2005
This review is from: The Dukes of Hazzard - Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
If you've seen the movie and bought this CD then you notice some of the better tracks in the movie did NOT make it to the soundtrack. Why? only they know for sure. So I just waited for the credits of the movie to see what was left off (I saw the movie more than once). So if you want the song from the beginning of the movie then you need to find a CD that contains Jerry Reed's "Guitar Man". Also the chase through Atlanta and some of the Duke Farm chase scene then you need to get some AC/DC. The Atlanta chase used AC/DC's "If You Want Blood (You Got It)" from "Highway to Hell". Then the other that was left off was AC/DC's "Shoot to Thrill". That one is found on "Back in Black".
So overall the Soundtrack was okay it could of been a real good one.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not exactly a soundtrack to the movie, September 24, 2005

This review is from: The Dukes of Hazzard - Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
I enjoyed the music when I watched the movie, so I decided to listen to the soundtrack. This CD is a good album and I enjoyed all the songs on it, although the jokes are kinda stupid. The problem is that a number of good songs which were in the movie are simply not on this CD; it's disappointing.

All in all it's a nice CD but it doesn't exactly deserve to be the soundtrack of the movie.

This soundtrack album to the 2005 theatrical release begins with Willie "Uncle Jesse" Nelson telling a joke. Then we'll hear great performances by Jessica "Daisy" Simpson.Lynyrd Skynyrd,The James Gang,Stevie Ray Vaughan and of course,Nelson. Nelson performs GOOD OL' BOYS by his late longtime friend Waylon Jennings. Jennings, who served as off-screen narrator on the 1979-85 CBS comedy-adventure series, performed the theme song heard in the opening montage, where he was credited as "the balladeer". Nelson performed it in one of the film's final scenes. Simpson, one of today's biggest recording stars, brilliantly covers Nancy Sinatra's 1966 hit THESE BOOTS WERE MADE FOR WALKIN',which was written by Lee Hazelwood. The other songs are great. This album would be more awesome with recordings by the series' stars Tom Wopat and John Schneider, who are country music artists themselves. In fact, they, with co-star Catherine Bach, the original Daisy, recently covered GOB with additional lyrics paying homage to Jennings.

2.0 out of 5 stars Left Off WAY Too Many Songs, August 6, 2005
This review is from: The Dukes of Hazzard - Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
First of all, the movie was AWESOME - hands down best movie I've seen this year. Throughout the entire movie, I kept thinking, "I have GOT to get this soundtrack". So I get home and hop on Amazon.com, and look at it, and think, "wow, where are all the songs?" Great songs the soundtrack left out:

AC/DC "If you Want Blood"
Mountain "Mississippi Queen"
ZZ Top "La Grange"
Ram Jam "Black Betty"

And those are just the few that I can think of off the top of my head. I think the soundtrack should've left off Uncle Jesse's jokes, and put those songs in. Needless to say, I did not purchase it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dukes of Hazzard Soundtrack, July 24, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Dukes of Hazzard - Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
Columbia Records/Sony Music Soundtrax will release "The Dukes Of Hazzard - Music From The Motion Picture" on Tuesday, July 19, 2005. "The Dukes of Hazzard" sountrack features two new songs by Jessica Simpson and Willie Nelson who also star in the film, including Jessica Simpson's rendition of the classic Nancy Sinatra song, "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'." The Allman Brothers, Waylon Jennings, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, also contribute songs to the soundtrack. An excellent soundtrack full of great songs. I have to admit that we should not listen to horrible reviews that do not have proper gramatical skills as they show the person's characters. If it's a bad review with proper gramatical skills....well there isn't anything you can do. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jessica and Willie Shine!, July 27, 2005
This review is from: The Dukes of Hazzard - Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
Jessica sounds great despite what people say. she is not trying to be britney because britney as we all know doesn't have an ounce of the talent that Jessica does. Her track is very listenable and funky. Willie sounds great and this is coming froming a self-proclaimed top 40 listener only. Overall the album is fairly good for a movie soundtrack and is not a bad listen

4.0 out of 5 stars I took off one Star for Jessica Simpson rendition of Boots, June 23, 2006

This review is from: The Dukes of Hazzard - Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
Overall I liked this sountrack, except for the Jessica Simpson rendition of Nancy Sinatra's Boots, she destroyed the song, sounded like some kind of rapp fusion, man it was bad, the other 14 tracks range from very good to excellent, overall it is worth buying, but if you don't want to be sick skip the Jessica Simpson track.

I received both CD's in a timely manner and both looked new.
I have not listened to them yet, they are for a friend. But from what I can tell I am pleased.
