Well, I'm proud to be the first to review this product. I'm a paraplegic, T-11 complete paralyzed. At T-11 or below, bowel management can be a huge problem. Huge. I try various products to assist in stool removal. Not the most pleasant of subjects, but that's why there is Ducolax. The other similar product I use is the Magic Bullet, which is the same ingredient in a water-based solid (Ducolax is vegatable oil based). Magic Bullet claims faster absorption than Ducolax because it is water based. HOWEVER, in my many months of undocumented and haphazard testing, I have found Ducolax to be superior every time. The only disadvantage I found was the price, where Ducolax purchased at the corner Rite Aid was running about $2-3 PER suppository. That's $3 to go. I found Magic Bullet online in bulk (a sad commentory on my life) for $1 each in lots of 50. But now that Amazon makes Ducolax available for under $1 each as well, in my opinion Ducolax is the better purchase and the superior product.

I had that feeling like there was a huge rock in the pit of my stomach. I couldn't use the bathroom (sorry if this is TMI but if you're looking up this product, you want to know that it works!). We had some Dulcolax tablets, but my husband said that was the most miserable bathroom experience of his life and it took a long time to actually work, so he warned me not to use those. So I googled what could help me and this page (and others) came up with rave reviews for the suppository. I went (painfully) to the store and got some after midnight. It says to hold it in for 15-20 minutes. It was a little uncomfortable because you can't sit on the toilet during that time, but it was well worth the wait! At 15 minutes it was time (HAHA!). It took maybe 10 minutes to run its full course, and at times it was uncomfortable, but then I had RELIEF and I could lay down and go to sleep!!! That would not have happened otherwise! This thing was amazing!!! It's worth the money and the drive to the store!

works exactly as stated on the box without any of the additional side effects. i, unfortunately have to take narcotics for chronic pain and as result suffer from chronic constipation. i do not like taking yet "another pill" so occasionally i will use these suppositories for relief. they work quickly and are effective. enough said.

I got tiered of using pills. The problem with pills is that you never know when you will go and the after effect. So I decided to try those.
The first time I used the whole thing. I thought it was way too much of a stimulant for me since they recommend you retain it for at least 15 min. Well I started feeling it in the first 15 minute & it was intense, it lasted another 45 minutes on and off. Next morning I had a few mild episodes of the stimulation ( I thought) but all was okay and no unexpected results.
The second time I needed them I thought I would use a half. Bingo, I could retain 20 min and seemed to have worked much better, then soon I felt normal.
The third, yes I used only a third of one, you keep the remaining pieces in ziploc or such, they are nothing that will dry on you and this time it just worked so much better for me. I am 165 lb and over 45. I have found out as is in many medications that the normal (for all) dose is usually too much for most average persons and this matters more as drugs get so expensive for many.

I don't know if I could ever take the pills for the reason they are unpredictable. I have also tried the powders, the latest medicine, all the same. This I would recommend, buy locally in packages of 4 to start and decide for yourself.

The first time i had these it was in the hospital. They are well worth the extra money. Great price here on Amazon!

I was using glycerin suppositories which provided some relief. I have multiple sclerosis and have some problems with motility due to medications. Although I add a good amount of fiber to my diet, sometimes I need something that will reliably do the trick.

I have used these twice and both times them have done a nice job. Since this is a stimulant laxative, I dealt with a bit of cramping and spasm (probably my MS talking in the latter instance). I am on the hunt for an easy, and reliable laxative product and I think this is pretty darn close (especially given it's ease of use). I am not sure how much of the colon that they actually clean out (versus taking an oral Dulcolax)? I feel that they have done a relatively good job but think that the oral version probably works a little more thoroughly -- but not in 30 minutes like these do! That must be the trade-off!

I recommend a good nitrile glove such as SAFESKIN® Purple Nitrile Exam Gloves, Beaded Cuff, Large, Purple (KIM55083) Category: Disposable Miscellaneous Gloves when using these suppositories. They make things a little easier.

For mobility restricted individuals the easier we can obtain necessary everyday items, the better. The price of this item is better than retail outlets and the ease of obtaining them through the vendor makes ordering this product via amazon a no brainer.

As a user of Dulcolax for years, I am quite happy with the product. But word of caution: having it shipped in the summer heat could result in the capsule's gel separating and leaving a gap or bubble inside. This does not affect the medication, but may inhibit the application.

I used to use ExLax, it was let say quite a violent reaction however the taste of the ex-lax chocolate is actually quite good. Great idea to keep away from children.
Then I used Mirilax, it's great, nice soft gentle release but the effect is not 100% guaranteed, sometimes it will take a few days of taking it before I could see and feel the results.
The Dulcolax is right inbetween Ex-Lax and Mirilax time to effect with a gentler reaction then Ex-Lax but not as gentle as Mirilax.
Also Mirilax has no taste (you add the powder to any drink) whereupon this tastes horrid and leaves a greasy feel in my mouth.
