5.0 out of 5 stars A great reminder of Jesus plus nothing!
I couldn't put it down. I quickly raced through this book in 2 sittings. I must confess that I attend Word of Grace so was able to relate to many of the stories and comments Gary shared. But of course the most impressive thing for me was the truth that is there from Jesus, and how we as Christians forget that truth. Gary's book brings that reality back to me over...

I would not order from this company again. I didn't mind the writting through out the book so much but there was food on the cover and also inside. They said it was in good condition and I feel it was not. This book was the most expensive f 7 that I ordered and in the worse condition. I will say it came very fast tho it was the first to come. Gary's book brings that reality back to me over and over again in each chapter of his book. He speaks of his personal downfalls, letting the reader note that even men of God are not always perfect people. Showing that we are all human, but are also by grace forgiven for all our shortcomings...no matter what they are. As Gary always teachs "Jesus plus Nothing"

The book lets the reader understand that God's love is unconditional and gives examples that each and everyone of us can relate too.

Even the Christian that we all know who is a wonderful example can examine himself through this book and see his life through different eyes.

A wonderful book to bring you closer to our God, as you realize you are special to Him, no matter what your short-comings. I would recommend this to all.....and have already passed it on!!!!

Thanks Gary!!

I just finished reading this book, nicely done Pastor Gary!!

I count myself very fortunate in that the author of this book is also my Pastor at church, as I am a member of Pastor Gary's church!

I'm ordering this book for some friends and wanted to give my comments to everyone as well!

Be Blessed!

5.0 out of 5 stars JESUS PLUS NOTHING, January 14, 2000
This review is from: Dumb Things Smart Christians Believe: Ten Misbeliefs That Keep Us from Experiencing God's Grace (Paperback)
This book is nothing less than amazing. Gary Kinnaman has a gift of taking issues no Christian wants to discuss and bringing them out into the light. As a new Christian, I was blessed to read this book before falling into the trap of the misbeliefs Kinnaman speaks of. Everyone should read this book, to understand that the concept of Jesus Plus Nothing does indeed change Everything.

5.0 out of 5 stars Grace - an understandable explanation with humor!, June 14, 2006
This review is from: Dumb Things Smart Christians Believe: Ten Misbeliefs That Keep Us from Experiencing God's Grace (Paperback)
I've read this book twice. It is thoughtful, entertaining, eye-opening, and fun to read. I've ordered 5 copies to give away to friends and family. I wish this experience of "utterly unconditional grace" in my own life and in the lives of others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes you think about what you're thinking about!, April 2, 2000
This review is from: Dumb Things Smart Christians Believe: Ten Misbeliefs That Keep Us from Experiencing God's Grace (Paperback)
It was just the book that I've been looking for. Honest and insightfull, full of revelation. I love how Mr. Kinnaman talks so candidly about depression and the stigma that goes along with this and other related illnesses right in our christian communities. Mr. Kinnamin just jumps right in there and tells it like it is, I love and respect that. It has been a God send for me and I hope that others find it as wonderful a book as I have.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST READ!, January 15, 2000
This review is from: Dumb Things Smart Christians Believe: Ten Misbeliefs That Keep Us from Experiencing God's Grace (Paperback)
An absolute must read for anyone. It is the most thought provoking book next to the Bible I have read in years. It ranks along side PILGRIMS PROGRESS. Pastor Kinnaman gets to the heart of cultural & spiritual myths addressing them in a clear & biblical based way.

I picked this book up while browsing @ a local book store. It clearly was not by chance.

As a member of the Canadian Penteostal Assemblies I needed to read & reflect on this books contents facing my own biases and confront my own myths.

I pray you take the time to read this book. It is a very easy read which you will hopefully find challenging and rewarding in your personal life and that of your churches.

I would love sometime to meet the author or better yet sit under his Pastorate.
