Love It,
This review is from: Dumbass: Outrageous Quotes From The World's Most Powerful Moron (Paperback)
I decided to post a review because I'm responding to the one below. I actually loved this book. Bush is made to look like a fool because he is a fool and then some. If you are a big fan of George W Bush than buying this book is probably a mistake but if you are like the rest of us, it's a lot of fun and quite informative. The fact is it's funny. period. It's nice to have for the cover alone. I'm giving it for Christmas gifts this year.

Superbly entertaining book!,

The fellow who calls GW Bush a "superb manager" should consider that a good manager must be able to communicate his thoughts clearly.
This book makes it abundantly clear that when he goes off-script, Bush can't string two coherent sentences together. He falls back on platitudes and cliches, and often gets them wrong. This book makes it clear that he really doesn't have a clue how to explain his administration's policies on complex matters like social security and health care. Perhaps "Dumbass" is too severe. "Incoherent Dimwit" might be better. There are almost 1200 Bush quotes in the book, and they are interspersed with (coherent) quotes from comedians, philosophers, and other politicians. The inclusion of those quotes are what makes this book a superbly entertaining read. It provides some good family fun. My kids and I get a kick out of finding and sharing some of the more stupid/incoherent/bizarre quotes. Makes for some great laughs.

This book is a compilation of quotes from George W. Bush so you cannot spin the stupidity and downright ignorance of the most powerful man in the world that has his finger on the button. I started feeling sick very early on in the book. I do not expect perfection from my president when it comes to speaking English but I would like him to at least get a passing grade. George W Bush fails miserably on this subject and no matter how you spin it, this is the way I think he thinks. I laugh out loud at NOT FUNNY and WHO WOULD ENDORSE THIS. I just love it when "they" talk about National Defense or 9/11(how many are dead and wounded in Iraq by the way which had nothing to do with 9/11?) Oh, yes, and be sure to blame Clinton for the way Bush speaks. What a bunch of losers that try to spin that angle. jules carlysle has written in my opinion the best book on George W Bush yet because these are his own words in mostly chronological order. He has only himself to blame and no one else, period. He damages his credibility with each and every sentence he spouts out of his mouth. jules also puts sarcasm after many of the sayings and believe me, I understand each and every one of them. I also like the jokes in-between told by some of the finest one-liner comics in the business: Leno, Maher, Stewart, Letterman and a few others. This is a must read for everyone that knows what's really going on. We could have done better let me tell you. This book is a keeper. Buy it.

"....otherwise [the book] is two covers surrounding emptiness."
Actually, GWB is 2 ears surrounding emptiness. The book is funny, but at the same time it's sad and frieghtening that a man a inane as GWB is anywhere near the power Dick Cheney has.

Uncomplicated Genius,

The man's words stand alone. The title says it all but, this is not as the back cover indicates, "your average quote book." You have to be paying attention but, there is actually a point being made in this book. The jokes are funny, the quotes are funny and the author uses a healthy dose of sarcasm. It's witty and intelligent, so it's the opposite of our President. (It still pains me to call him that)
Are we to believe that these people who gave the book bad reviews and dissolve into talk about Democrats and leftys, or who think Bush is a "superb manager" actually bought and read this book? Excuse me but your political agenda is showing. If this book is pissing off Bush supporters than it is obviously doing something right. And I love the cover.

Better than the average Bushism comp,

It's easy to compile Bushisms - the man provides material daily. Fortunately, this book does a much more professional job at bringing them together than the typical hack job at the mall calendar booth.
And as to our "Iron Curtain" friend below - I do come from the former USSR, and if you don't think that making fun of corrupt, malicious political leaders wasn't one of the main pastimes keeping people under their regimes sane, you really weren't paying attention.

Bush's satire is subtle and convoluted, but he's on the mark. Carl Rove gets credit for many of the phrases, but Dubya himself puts it all together for the best comedy effect.
I'm waiting for the audiobook because Dubya's homespun delivery would make this a smash!

Whether you are believe this guy is totally out of touch or your leaning that way(why else would you buy it), this book will convince you that you are right. I was getting tired of this guy when I purchased this book right before the 2006 elections. It doesn't take too many pages to confirm the fact that we elected a goof as president of the United States. I got no more than ten pages into this book before I realized that his own words convict him of the crime of stupidity. I was reading quotes to friends and we laughed out loud. This book is funny but at the same time it is terribly tragic. At least 3000 American lives and countless other lives lost because this moron is in the White House.

Jules Carlysle Rocks!,
By
This review is from: Dumbass: Outrageous Quotes From The World's Most Powerful Moron (Paperback)
I read Jules Carlysle's work on the forum of a certain Canadian TV dog trainer. (bradpattison.com)& had to buy her book. I just can't believe how witty and powerful her words are. She can make you laugh and say whoa at the same time. I have also become a huge fan of her blog at Canadawry.com too & I just had to buy the book.
DUMBASS is everything I hoped it would be if you thinks this is just a simple quote book, really hasn't got a clue. It's funny and poignant, crisp and insightful. Jules Carlysle is the intersection between poetry and punditry. Stream of consciousness style, weird punctuation and oddities in her style create flow-intensity of the message like Fung Shway (can't spell it) for words. Jules is "Canada's answer to Dave Barry" If Canadians don't start to recognize the talent in it's own yard, Carlysle will flee to America like all of our other great talents. It would be a tragic loss.

This book tells it like it is in his own words. After reading this book I have begun to question Yale graduation standards. I am a retired teacher. Bush would never have received the C that he is so proud of in my class. That someone this ignorant was appointed to run our country is incredible.
