5.0 out of 5 stars A positive listening experience, October 26, 2001
This review is from: An Dun (Calming the Emotions) (Audio CD)
According to the liner notes (in both English and Chinese), this disc is one of a six volume set inspired by the ancient "Yellow Emporer's Classic of Internal Medicine", which (the notes claim) has provided the theoretical foundation for the healing arts in China for over two thousand years.

I purchased this CD unheard and hoping for simple traditional Chinese music and was initially disappointed when I heard the symphonic and classical type compositions contained here. The music on this disc has, however, subsequently impressed itself upon me in a very positive manner. It is a calming and (to use the word again) positive listening experience and this disc has found its way frequently into my CD player despite my original disappointment.

A hearty recommendation to those interested in ethnic music - but be warned that it is closer to classical music than folk.
