Only not as extensive or suggestive as the Cake mix Doctor.

However, this is a nicely chosen selection of dessert recipes designed to jazz up your standard cake-mix. I would say I am more partial to this over the Cake-Rx books for three reasons:

1.) The book has color pictures, call me immature, but if I'm too lazy to make a cake from scratch, I'm going to want color pictures/diagrams to show me what I should have come up with.

2.) The recipes are easier to read. The layout is concise and the bold print lends a helping hand to "tired eyes".

3.) And this is a big one: the book lies perfectly flat when in use. Even after I broke the spine of my Cake-Rx book to lie flat the pages still danced about on their own accord. That really annoyed me.

Since purchasing, I have used this book over and over again. Recipes are simple and the cakes turn out delicous each time!

I have read, and own many cookbooks based on boxed mixes. This is definitely the best!

This book is MAGICCCCCCCCCC, really, i didn't know make a cake....

and with this book, I DID IT.... :)

I bought this to start a collection of cookbooks for my granddaughter. I love it. She is going to be so excited to receive this as a gift. She is an avid baker and will love it.

The standard Cake Box is full of unimaginative sin. Active ingredients: Air and sweetness. (Like a politician on election eve?) With the help of this book and the zany ingredients suggested, your Cake Mix becomes something else entirely.

You will need a friend or two. The whimsical nature of these "recipes" brings a touch of hilarity to the kitchen that is best shared. Rolling around the floor in fits of laughter by your self is just not proper. You will also need a friend to help you eat the resulting behemoth. 3 bananas, after all, do add a certain bulk to the product.

This is a fantastically fun kitchen fantasy. Just don't get carried away. You will need some place besides your own tummy to tuck these treats.
