Book Description

A magical bedtime story for all ages.

Halloween is coming, and Duncan the Punkin's mom teaches him to hide in the pumpkin patch so he doesn't get turned into a jack-o-lantern. Being good is boring, and Duncan's not afraid of any old farmer. But someone else has been keeping an eye on the pumpkin patch. Skeerdy-Cat-Crow has been hanging on a pole all summer, and now he's hungry. He's heard nice little pumpkins are just right. But Mom knows a trick that will teach both Skeerdy-Cat-Crow and Duncan something new.

Features 30 color pages (will appear in black-and-white on Kindles) of rhyming fun, magic, and Halloween mystery. Scott Nicholson is author of the children's books IF I WERE YOUR MONSTER and TOO MANY WITCHES, as well as 20 books for adults. Sergio Castro has illustrated for the comic books LITTLE SHIVERS, DREAMBOAT, and GRAVE CONDITIONS.

5.0 out of 5 stars A charming tale for both children and adults February 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Duncan the Punkin was a charming children's picture book, told from the point of view of..what else..a pumpkin! I loved how Scott Nicholson personified the pumpkins, and described what they have to worry about at Halloween. I read it with my eight year old son who was utterly charmed by the story as well as the illustrations. This is a wonderful children's book but I enjoyed the story just as much as my son did. Halloween is one of our favorite holidays and reading this as a bedtime story that night is going to be a tradition from now on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cutest punkin ever May 28, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
It was the cutest book I had ever seen, Starting out as a warning to all pumpkins on Halloween and how to live longer on their vines. I read this to my daughter. She's six and she loved it so much I had to re-read it several times before she would agree to let it rest and we could move on to another one.

I think this a perfect story for young children and one that would even hold a fond memory for a parent to read to their child especially around Halloween.

As my daughter says " I loved it."

1.0 out of 5 stars Not for young kids
This book isn't exactly appropriate for young kids. Kind of sad and the word "stupid" is used. I was really disappointed as I started to read it to my 2 year old. Read more
