I wish it was Lynch's version of Dune that could have been six hours long instead of the SciFi miniseries; although its inaccuracies with the complex story issues like spice-induced navigation and the weirding ways ultimately leaves it mildly flawed, the cast, the costumes, the sets, the production design are all excellent and are now what come to mind when I read the books. The voice-overs in particular are very reminiscent of the books' inner calculations and political maneuverings.

I hope this is being given a special-edition treatment, but I admit I would be happy if they simply took the HD transfer on the HD-DVD and slap it on Blu.

STUDIOS: please hire Lynch to re-edit a whatever-length-he-wants version of the film and put it on Blu-Ray. DTS HD, etc etc...

do that, and we are so on it!!

I have the old VHS version of this film. Only a handful of movies will give you such lush stuning scenes and customes. The storyline is of course pure science fiction but compeling none-the-less. I hope that when it comes out on Blu ray it will be at least edited to its original state.
A very interesting plot of galactic proportions; love, betrayal, war, mystery, suspence.... you get the picture. This movie was made for blue ray, sorround sound... can't wait for it to get here!!!
