Book arrived w/o the dust jacket. Not the end of the world. The recipient of the gift was very pleased

My review is of the content of Mr. Hebert's book.
I have a copy of Dune I bought in 1965, a paperback. Being a bit tired from being read a few times I needed a "new" copy. Ok, that's my nice side.

The photo shows an original dust cover. And where is it? The book I received was in reasonable shape but no dust cover. I'm going to assume that I will not be receiving it anytime soon, if ever. Thanks, for nothing. That's my review of the purchase.

I've always liked Frank Herbert's series, beginning with "Dune." Herbert, like Tolkien, was a scholar of the medium he was using. Tolkien knew the old and ancient English tongues, while Herbert was one who knew of the Middle Eastern cultures and languages. This come through in his stories, as it did with Tolkien. As many times as I've read this, I still get caught up in it and carried away to that world and time, and I don't even need "spice" to do it, either. Who needs the Spacing Guild? Just open this book, dive in, and there you are on Arrakis, Giedi Prime, Kaitan, or Calladan. Yes, I do very much recommend this series to any reader worthy of the name.

Its an absolute pleasure to own this in my collection. For being published in 1965, the pages have been kept crisp. The ink bleeding is minimal and the binding is pristine. It did not come with a dust jacket, but its an exception on getting a hardback first edition for under five dollars. If you are a fan, get this ASAP.

I bought this for my boyfriend. It's his favorite book. I made sure the description included a cover. It has some minor wear and tear which is to be expected. The binding is still in perfect condition. Overall a great purchase!

I'm giving a 3 for poor product advertisement. As for the book and its condition they are all acceptable.

The book is Frank Herbert's Dune and is in decent condition. Though I can't complain about the price the pictures show a signature of the author and there is not one to be found in this book or in the dust jacket. I would've purchased the book anyway as it was for a friend. I just don't like it when implied information is provided to entice a buyer when it shouldn't be. The book showed up in a timely manner. If buying books, or anything, from this seller please make sure to bother them with the details they decide to post in their sales. Obviously they don't seem to mind showing you something that may not be accurate.
